Default CB embossing on Scrapbook pages?

I posted this on the scrapbooking forum and got no response so I thought I would try here.

Has anyone used paper embossed with CB folders (or other other dry embossing like Fiskars, Ellison, etc.) on their scrapbook page? I'd like to see how you are using it. I need some ideas.

I don't have CB or any folders. I haven't been that interested b/c the folders seem small for scrapping. I do more scrapping than card making. Another scrapper friend and I were talking about using embossed cardstock on our pages and decided that one would use this sort of like you use your large SU background stamps...accents or maybe a long strip that gets interrupted by a photo or journalling block so that it looks like it goes all the way across the page. I still am unsure if I would use it enough to justiy the cost, especially after seeing the post about using a rolling pin with the folders.

I' m thinking it could be used sort of like color blocking where the page consists of different papers pieced together to equal the total page - KWIM?

Or the background on a decorative tag or journaling block.

Those are my 2 ideas, but I wanted to see what others were doing.

Another idea popped into my head. Cut an embossed piece in half along the long side. Butt the 2 pieces end to end (narrow end) then cover where the two pieces meet (ribbon - possibly) and you've got a page border.

I guess I ought to play around and maybe be the first to post a sb page using CB embossing.

I embossed a few papers and then stamped a bunch of background stamps. I am doing an 8X8 so I think it will work for matting. If anyone has more ideas please share! Are there any photos in the gallery?

I'm still waiting to see some actual pages, but another idea that came to me is to emboss and then use the embosses paper for die cut letters or some other die cut shape.

Years ago there were templates for embossing on scrapbook pages made by Chatterbox. The dark cardstock problem was 'solved' by the Embosser used on the reverse side of the paper with a feel for the image and checking the front to see if you got the whole image. There were also papers sold that were embossed all over. Fiskars came out with the Shape Boss that also allowed for 12 x 12 embossing.
The swirl folder I have doesn't look like it has any edges that match for an all over connected larger image. If it did, I would think you could go around the edges of the cardstock with the folder, but this would leave about a quarter inch non-embossed edge and about a one inch square unembossed center of the page.
That said, you could try a faux color blocked effect. Emboss the folder three or four times, not next to each other to make an embossed blocked sheet. Place your photos on the non-embossed areas so you can see the embossing.
