With these colors retiring every year, what do you buy and how much of it do you stock up on to make sure that you can keep using these colors for quite a while?
It seems like too much of an investment to buy all of the ink pads and then just not use them anymore after they retire and you can't buy the coordinating supplies any longer.
Would love to know what everyone else does before I go buy 50 packs of paper! j/k
I'm buying two extra packs of paper for pomegranite and wasabi. I figure the ink pads will last through that without reinking, and then I'll just chuck them. I'm buying them in the next few weeks because last year I waited too long to get stocked up on cool caribbean. My demo found me a pack last August, so I got lucky, but I really, really love the pom and wasabi and don't want to take a chance.
I bought an extra ink refill for each pad last year and several packages of my favorite colors of cardstock. Sad to say, I've used hardly any this year -- I moved right on to the new colors. I know that, eventually, I'll use everything so I'm not concerned. I think this year I'll still get the ink refill but only 1 package of the cardstocks.

I found I did the same thing! I used some Cranberry Crisp for Christmas cards, but I rarely use my Cool Caribbean - and I adore that color.
This year, I think I'll get one pack of cardstock of the colors I have ink pads for and one re-inker. No big plans to stock up this year.
I bought 2 packs of cardstock and 2 ink refills. I've actually still been using last year's in-colors a lot so I did the same thing this year. I have more in color paper stocks than the regular 48 color cardstock.
Honestly, I don't really "stock up" as I barely use the ones I bought from last year. I have 3 unopened packs of Cool Caribbean paper and 1 Marigold Morning that are just sitting there.
I buy all the reinkers and then some uninked spots to make my own spots, and then I'll buy the full size pads in the few colors that I use a lot. That way I have all the colors in some sort of ink pad, but I don't feel I've wasted my money if I don't use it past the first year.
Well, I have all the re-inkers and I have all the pads and several of the ribbon rolls. I will buy 2 more multi-packs (I have 2 unopened) and probably 2 more texture cardstock packs. I'll buy another roll of wasabi ribbon because I use it a lot these days. But, I don't plan to do a major stock up, especially since I think I will probably love new in-colors.
After I am done with the paper or if I don't use it, I will probably try to sell it. That's one thing about SU, the products really hold their value well if you want to sell later. I can't believe what '06 In Color lots sell for on eBay, for example.
I have all the colors except groovy guava and I don't plan on getting that one. I am going to buy a roll of a ribbon, and two packs of cardstock on top of what I already have. Every time I order I've been getting an in color card stock. I didn't get any in colors last year but I really like the colors this year. I will be sad to see them go and I don't think I will be collecting any more in colors even if they are cool!
( have a couple packs of my beloved Cool Caribbean. Have not used them since last year ??? I should not have done it, but I bought 1 pack of R. Rock,S.Blue, G.Guava and B. Bayou. I left the Wasibi and Pom out, since I still have a fair bit and don't use them as much.
Will I use these packs? I loved Cool Caribbean and looked what happened there.
I know eventually I will turn to these colors, but I only have so much room for paper storage. In the next catalogue, 1 pack of each (if I like them) and 1 bottle of re-inker. No inkpads. I found cheap 1 dollar pads at the dollar store, washed the ink out and put some re-inker on. Works like a charm. At least I will save a bit with the inkpads.
I sold all mine last year after they retired and find I kick myself at least once a month because whatever color would be perfect.... I will probably not do that this year... A small stock up is in order.

I think I'll probably buy a pack or 2 of each and reinkers. I love the in colors this year! I really resisted Groovy Guava but fell in love with it the first time I used it.
I'm curious to see what they are going to bring out next year.
I wasn't sure at first if I liked all the In colors this year. I do even more so than last year. I have most of the ink pads. And whenever I buy and inkpad I automatically buy the refill. I know I do need to get some more cardstock. I still wish they put out an entire set of the In Colors in stampin spots and markers.

I stocked up last year on paper and ribbon, I have hardly used them. This year I will probably do the same, simply because the thought of needing it and not having it or access to it makes me crazy.

I know what you mean. It's almost like I want it more if I can't have it!
I see a lot of you saying that you really stocked up and then didn't use a lot of what you got. That's what I was worried about:(
Well, when I signed up as a Demo in the fall, I decided to get the In Colors, and I am glad I did. I bought 2 packs of the multi packs of paper, and the ink pads. That is it. I decided I would not continue using them anymore once we get new In Colors, so why bother buying the reinkers. I have bought extra packs of paper in individual colors as needed, like when I needed CS to coordinate with the DSP I bought. I will try and use them up, especially before the new colors come out. Once it is gone, it's gone. I will try and sell my ink pads or something.
I like the in colors mainly because they coordinate with so much of the designer papers. So -- I'm not going to stock up at all. Just getting what is coming with my demo kit (!) which will give me all the colors of ink and paper, and then worry about next year when August comes!

I have all of the inkpads and only need 2 more re-inkers. I will be buying 2-3 extra cardstock packs depending on the color. I know I will continue to use them as I LOVE these colors. I did stock up on last years in-colors as well and I still use them also ,depending on the project.
I hated Groovy Guava in the beginning, Now I really like it!! There was card in the new catty that had the Guava cardstock with white cardstock and then the flower was stamped in Guava. I loved that card, so I had to buy it.
Last year, I nearly missed out on buckaroo blue...this year, I've made it my priority to get all the new colors - so far, 1 pack of c/s, ink pad and refill.
I'm actually using it, too.
So now I am starting to think about how much to buy to have on hand until the 2009 in-colors come out.
I am going to place my order ASAP and get my reinkers and then a few packs of cardstock. I like both sizes so I normally get all cardstock in 81/2 x 11 and 12 x 12
