Question Compatibility/Sizzix & Cuttlebug Dies/Embossing Plates

If I have the system converter for the Sizzix, does anyone know if I can use the cuttlebug dies, without having to invest in another machine?

Thanks!

YES YES YES

Check my gallery! I have 3 cards using the sizzix with the cuttle bug dies/embossing plates-no problem.
If you have the large sizzix, you need the sizzlets converter-its like $12 but use a coupon, and you're set!

Has anyone tried the cuttlebug embossing folders with a Zip-e-mate?

I have used Cuttlebug embossing dies in my Sizzix with the converter and also my Sidekick and they work great! I haven't bought any dies yet but I know I will. Have fun with it! It is such a fun new way to paper craft!!

This is a question I wanted to ask but never did.
The girls at the "M" near us are telling customers that it will not work.
I knew I would find the correct answer here.
Thanks

Okay, these cuttlebug embossing folders are just to cool! Does anyone have a good source for purchasing online? The Michaels near me didn't have that great of a selection.

This was the question I kept asking, with no answer, so I just got brave and bought the CB embossing folders and dies. They work perfectly well together. Today my friend brought her CB over and we both used the same dies and folders with the same success. If you have the Zip E Mate, you can now spend your $$ of CB dies and folders...yeah

Yeah!!! I'm so glad we finally have an answer on the Zipemate! Maybe you should start a whole new thread about it, so others will see it? I know you're not the only one who's been wondering. That's fantastic that you can now be assimilated into the fold, lol....

Funny, that's exactly what I did. I've bought a few of the CB folders and just got around to trying them last night.

Here's my next question -

With the cuttlebug, can you put a full card (back and front) through it and only emboss the front?
On the zipemate, you can only put the CS in one direction (it's not wide enough the other way) so you have to have just the front cut out to 5.5x4.25. Then I had to mount that on some other CS. I'd really like to just emboss the original single layer card.

Any ideas?

No clue with the Cuttlebug, but I was able to do this with the Cuttlebug embossing folders using my Big Shot. Worked like a charm!

I read that the width of the BS and the CB are the same, if that helps at all.

I did that the other day. I first tried to put the front of the card in the folder, with the back folded around, but that was too thick and wouldn't go through.

Then I turned the cardstock sideways and opened it all the way up, so the 8.5 lenght ran through. The opening will accomodate the 5.5 width of the card. It worked perfectly! The entire front is just the embossed Happy Birthday one.

I've also done it with the smaller 2x2 sized embossing folder, and it worked just fine as well, although there was a teeny suggestion of the die's outline being embossed as well. It wasn't noticeable though.
