For those of you who have the Cricut machine, I have a couple of questions:
1. Can you clean off the sticky pad if it falls on the carpet and cat hair gets stuck on it?? (My poor mom picked off as much as she could, but it's still kinda yuck.)
2. Where do you find the cheapest cartridges and for how much?
I haven't tried this yet but I read in another thread that you can clean it with stampin mist and afterwards it's stickier. I got my cartidges on sale at Michaels for half price in November.

You mean it actually has to fall on the floor to get that pesky cat hair all over it? Wonder how my 2 felines are doing it.
Sorry, had to add and hope to find out right along with ya.

Yeah, someone told me stampin' mist and a nylon cloth. I haven't tried it yet though.
I have found that the cartridges are cheapest if you get them on sale at A.C. Moore (59.99) or anytime at Walmart. Walmart actually has the font cartridges priced at 54.99 and then the picture type cartridges priced 59.99 where A.C. Moore has them all priced the same.
I was told you can use an Xyron tape runner to "re-stick" the pad, but I don't know about cleaning it. Heck, I'd love to get all the paper fibers off mine. And I buy my cartridges when they go on sale. I've been lucky enough to get a few 50% coupons that didn't have the restrictions! I just can't pay $90 for a cartridge!
For your pad just spray it with Stampin' Mist and wipe off with a baby wipe. Then just let air dry and it will regain all it's stickiness. I did this last night and it worked great!!
I've been looking on ebay. They were mostly $49 with varied shipping costs before Christmas, but since then they've been higher. I suspect they will go down when sellers figure that those who got a cricut for Christmas have bought what they want.

And another plug for creativexpress.. their shipping is phenomenal. I ordered on Tuesday and had it by Friday.
also, as Robyn stated, Stampin' Mist works.. but I've also found that 'Awesome' (dollar store find) works as well. I spritzed, wiped with a baby wipe, let dry and it's as tacky as it was the day I took it out of the box. I've used it ALOT, too.
Before Christmas I picked up a few of the older cartridges on ebay for $39 plus shipping. You have to check often . On the newer ones, I paid $59 on ebay, I am in the UK so I don't have access to stores and I am certainly not paying UK prices for cartridges, $120!

I just had to chuckle..."older cartridges." It's so funny to hear them referred to as older, but it's so true! Now that there are new cartridges, my "old" ones don't see too much action!
Thanks so much for all of your advice! My mom told me about those great Wal-Mart prices. I only have the George and Doodletype (I think that's the one from QVC). I really want more, but I agree with those who cannot see paying $90 or even $60. I have seen some for $49 on e-bay, so I was wondering if that is the lowest price I could find (without being super lucky and being able to use a 50% off coupon or something).
Thanks again for all of the great advice for cleaning off the cutting pad. I will pass it on to mom. I bought her a Cricut for her birthday/Christmas present, and she has been playing with it- and obviously inviting the cats to join in! LOL
