Cricut Design Studio files that people have created
Now I am very new to this so please bear with me :-) I have been reading about using the DS along with files that others have created. What does this mean? Am I correct in thinking that if I have certain carts, along with DS, I can then use other files from some of you ?
I am not ready for SCAL ...
Yes I believe you would need jukebox to but maybe not. I just got a cricut DS, and SCAL! I have been using cricut and DS for awhile - my friends but finally got my own! good luck - oh and check out the cricut.com message board for files and tips and such!
You do need the carts that were used, but you don't need the Juke box, it is nice because it will hold 6 carts, but not necessary. If you have Design Studio you can then use these files & there are lots out there.
Try the Cricut forums, lots of help there!!
Yes, as long as you have the same cartridges that were used, you can cut them with your machine. Just open the files and cut the way you usually do with DS. You don't need the Jukebox. You will need to switch out the cartridges when the message appears on your screen. I was nervous about "hot-swapping" cartridges at first, but it hasn't harmed my Cricut at all. Good luck, and have fun.
I have a blog where I am posting free files that I have designed for use with DS. My latest is a little candy cane mouse ornament or favor. You will need George and TBBM to make it. The files for both DS and Gypsy are on my blog, so please visit, and leave me a comment if you do. The link is below in my signature.
I'm also working on about 8 more projects that I plan to post before Christmas, so sign up to be a follower so you don't miss any of them!
