I belong to the Cricut board too. The rumor was between $300 & $600. That's what they were saying.

WOW!! No wonder the older one is dropping in price. Maybe in another year it will drop to a reasonable price?

Wal Mart has some pretty good prices on the orig. one! I also have done a lot of research and it seems that the newer one would be more functional for schools or scrapbook stores than for me at home!
