Default Cricut Owners - What do you think?

Ok, the Cricuts are down to $139 at Michael's this week. They look really cool. Those of you who own one -- is it worth the money? Is it easy to use? Is it versatile? Give me the low down! thanks...

I love mine! Use it often! However, they are coming out with a new model soon that will cut up to 12 inches x 24 inches. If that is more a size you will use, I would wait. The new machine is also rumored to cut chipboard and will run between $349 and $499 depending on the post you are reading. As for me, I am happy with the one I have. I think it all depends on your needs. Big help, wasn't I?

I love my cricut. And the $139 is a fabulous price. I say jump in and give it a try. As Robyn mentioned, we have a mondo Cricut thread going, so you can read a bit and see what others think.

Go for it at $139 you can't go wrong and there is soooo much you can do with it and I am sure in time there will be even more as new carts continue to be put on the market

Default Cricut critique

I'd wait for the new one that holds bigger paper, I love mine, but the contraints on paper size is frustrating.

YOu should check out the Cricut faqs sticky thread under tools. If you have alot of questions their are a bunch of Cricut users who have a thread theywilla nswer your questions about the cricut. The new thread just started its Cricut-Zooballoobian Queens. They were answering questions for a lot of people last week on their old thread.
Hope this helps

So NOT worth it!!! I bought it for $139 at Michael's and bought the Tags & Boxes cartrige at AC Moore for $50 the same day and I am really irritated that I wasted the money on it! I played with it for a few days, nothing good came from it, just a bunch of wasted cardstock. I wish I would have spent the $$ on stamps instead. I wonder if I can return it.... maybe I'll just sell it on e-bay... hmmm.

I got one at Mike's this week and I really like it. I can see this changing the way I scramp. I did have to play with it a while to get the settings correct for the heavy SU cardstock.

I got mine last Sunday and LOVE IT!! I've done over 15pgs since last Sunday! I haven't scrapped that much for myself in years!! Usually I've been doing albums for the grandparents. I only have the cartridge that came with it, but will be getting more!
Usually the biggest I scrap is 12x12 so I don't really have the need for the new bigger machine and a 12" letter.

I absolutely love my cricut and I own A LOT of cartridges. The Tags Bags Boxes and More Cartridge is the one people complain about most. The bags and boxes are quite small but they're still cute. The advantage of the new machine is that you will be able to make more usable sized bags. There are several other features of the new machine that are tempting me, but I'll likely wait a year or so before I upgrade.

This isn't something I'll be getting into but I can see where it would be a great tool for someone who does a lot of scrapbooking. I was in ACM yesterday - they have it for $139 too & the cartridges are 50% off - but - I think Joann's regular price is lower than ACMs regular price. If you aren't in a hurry it would pay to shop around for best price on the carts.

WE have a link to Kim's website on the Cricut FAQ. She has everyday low pricing on the Cricut & Cuttlebug items. Probably not as cheap as using a 50% off coupon, though. If you are paying more than $60 for a cartridge, you are paying too much (unless it's the disney cart).
