Cricut vinyl ?

I just opened my box of cricut vinyl. It looks suspiciously like mactac.... did I just spend 12.50 for mactac? will it work? Anyone tried?

Sarahjane....I've used the Cricut vinyl a number of times. I have no idea what the mactac product you are talking about. But the vinyl you purchased will work just fine.

For that matter vinyl is vinyl and any I've tried works just fine in my machine. Even contact paper will work, too.

There may be differences in thicknesses of vinyl, but that would be the only thing to watch.

I haven't used the cricut vinyl, but I have cut out mactac a few times.
...and it didn't gum up my cutting blade like some people said it may.
I used it as a stencil, works great!!

Can you please explain what mactac is? TIA

It's basically like the vinyl with a sticky side to it and a paper backing. After I cut it with my Expression I peeled off the backing and attached it to my material so I could use it for a paint stencil.
This is how I made funky stool coverings for my scraproom.
