Default Cuttlebug

Hi - does anyone have the Cuttlebug? If so, would you recommend it for card making? I haven't done any embossing and saw some great cards in the gallery that have embossing. JoAnn's is having a sale, and I'd like to pick one up, but am not sure it's worth the investment.

If you like it, what accessories do you recommend?

Thank you!

Default cuttlebug

I love my cuttlebug. I have quite a few of the A2 folders, they make it so easy to whip up a card. I use the birthday folder quite a bit. I also have the stylized flowers, bloom dots, friend, snowflake, etc. I also use the diecuts to make flowers, ribbon tags, I love the scallop flowers and the stamps. I am very anxious to see the new stuff from Provocraft show up in the stores, lots of fun new cards to make.

Thank you for your feedback. I have the Cricut and from other posts I've seen, it looks like the Cuttlebug is a good partner to it!

I bought my bug last weekend. I love it! It gives the cards an extra kick and is so easy to use! Plus it can cut basically any die cut and the dies for it seem cheaper then others!

Can you use other dies with it? I have TONS of sizzix dies and don't want to give them up.

I got my cuttlebug last night from Joann's and tried my sizzlets, quickutz, old style big Sizzix dies and the cuttlebug ones I bought too.

Each one worked like a charm! There were instructions inside for using other types of dies. It's soooooooo worth the money!

Default I have one too!

I have a cuttlebug but haven't had a chance to use it much. Does anyone know of a good tutorial on using it? I'd love some great design ideas.

I've seen so many cards in the gallery using the cuttlebug embossing that I now am anxious to get one. The swirl design seems to be a popular one and also one of my favorites. Have fun creating!!

Yup, the brass stencils work too. If you have the sizzix brass stencils and folders, you would just put your paper in the same as you would with the sizzix and run it through the bug. If you don't have the plastic folders, it still works. Just lay your paper on top of the stencil and place it beween the 2 clear bug pads. I have my sizzix machine on top of the counter next to my Cuttlebug. I don't know why, I haven't used it in months! Short of the crop-o-dile the Cuttlebug is probably my favorite tool.

I love love love my Cuttlebug it is the best!!! Everything I make lately has an embossed background just cause it is so fun and easy to do! I just wish the A2 folders were easier to find in my area, I guess I will have to look online and see what I can find! So far I have only managed to find 1 dot blooms.

Here is a great place to order embossing folders for the Bug. They are only $4.24 each and shipping is $5.00. They ship very fast and have a good selection.

I sure do like mine! The embossing folders add so much interest to cards and the die cuts are easy to make. The bug, dies and folders are quite affordable with coupons and sales too. For such a little investment, I feel I've gained a lot of decorating potential.

I'm excited to try mine, I bought it a few days ago (Cuttlebug). I was lucky to find a JoAnns locally that still had it in stock (after three tries!). I haven't had time to open it up and play yet. Plus my craft room is still being put together.

Anyway, you'll probably love it too!
