Default Cuttlebug - Chrome precision base plate?

Newbie here
New to SCS after a long time away! But been card making Scrap booking for years.

But new question. I really struggle with detailed dies in my hand-cranked old faithful Cuttlebug. I have seen the 'Sizzix Chrome Precision Base plate' on YouTube - it seems to work a dream (on Big Shots).
Will this work - will it pass though my Cuttlebug? Too much money to spend if it won't work!
Looking for advice from you all Thanks

I don't know anything about the Sizzix Precision Base plate but I do own a Cuttlebug and I have the metal plate they sold for it and use it for intricate dies. It's not magnetic and is made to sit on top of the A plate. Cuttlebugs are no longer sold but you might find one on ebay or by posting in the ISO forum.

Thank you
I already have my Cuttlebug (old faithful).

So did the metal plate help, though? Can you now cut intricate dies?

So likely any metal plate will work? I think the Sizzix one is very expensive and was worried it wouldn't fit. I've seen a metal plate on '****' so I might get that its not too dear so not much money lost.
Thanks again let me know if you like your metal plate - did it work?

I use my metal plate all the time. Sometimes with real intricate dies I have to shim them a bit but that's all. And, if I feel an embossing folder isn't giving a deep enough impression I add it to the "sandwich". Hope you find something that works.........Diane

Hi Diane
thanks for that.
so last night I just ordered a ‘regular’ metal shim £6.50 (UK).
rather than the more than £30 sizzix one. I hope it helps with this intricate dies, but even if it doesn’t I haven’t spent too much. Thanks from a hot UK! 88f?
