I am thinking of buying a Cuttlebug but not sure if it is what I really want? I am just new to card making and I really love the cards that have that embossed look. I have bought a couple of the brass templates from Stampin Up - but I find it takes a long time to emboss the whole front card. I have been looking at a couple of different machines - but am totally confused as to which product to go with???
Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what they think is a good product.

Get the Cuttlebug, definitely! Other than my papercutter, it is the most used piece of equipment for my cardmaking.
I would recommend getting a couple of embossing folders to start with. D'Vine Swirl is probably the one I have used the most. It is simple and elegant and you can use it with lots of kinds of cards.
There are some new really neat embossing folders coming out, but they are backordered at lots of online places, and probably won't be in the big-box stores (Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc) for a while.

Has anyone who has the cuttlebug used nestibilities to emboss/diecut? I've heard mixed reviews about using them with the cuttlebug, and just want to make sure they work well before I decide which machine? Thanks so much!
I purchased my Cuttlebug two weeks ago and I'm not regretting one second of it Being primarily a card maker, I didn't think I would use it as much, but after I bought mine I find myself buying a few embossing folders and die cuts here and there. I have heard a lot of feedback about the Cuttlebug. Most people I know that has one uses is for embossing because it really works that well. There are a ton of different embossing folders for it and you can usually get it pretty cheap.
If you are looking for a machine to use with Nestabilities, why not get the Wizard, the machine they were designed for? It's compatible with all other consumer dies on the market and it's a sturdy little machine. I consider mine more of an art tool than just a die cutting machine. I know you can use the Nestabilities in other machines, but it stands to reason that you will get the best results with the Wizard.
BUY IT!! Use a 40% off coupon at M's and get it!! I bought mine right after it came out and I use it on almost every project. I LOVE the embossing folders but probably use the die cuts just as much. So much easier and cheaper than buying numerous punches!! Check Ebay for deals on alphabets and bundles of dies. You can pick them up fairly cheap if you keep watching. The new stuff they have coming out is amazing, too!! While the bug is not a cheap investment, it is worth it!!
I paid $39 for my Cuttlebug at Michael's using a 50% off coupon. (I sold my Wizard first.) What I like about the CB is that it takes up so little space and it doesn't weigh a ton if you need to move it. This is definitely one of those "no regrets" purchases.

I LOVE my Cuttlebug. One of my fave things about it is how portable it is. I also have a sizzix that I will probably get rid of, it is so heavy and clunky...it's just a pain to pull out and take anywhere. It is very easy to use and I get perfect results everytime!!! LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

I see the Cuttlebug is on sale this week at Michaels. What does the average embossing folder cost? I figure I will probably want to buy a couple of them to get started - any suggestions as to which ones you would suggest to buy first.
The embossing folders are around $5. My Michaels doesn't have a very good selection, but the Swirls one is a good basic folder. My favorite is the Textile one--at least until I have the new ones in my hot little hands! :-)
plus the embossing folders are 30% off too. I just picked one up. It rang up at 55.60, then the folders were $6 minus 30%. I got the divine swirls and Happy Bday. Plus you can use the sizzix dies with it. I am so excited about this purchase - hubby isn't but I had to tell him the truth when he asked what I got. We just had a Michaels have their grandopening today, so I had to go in - but I stuck to my CB purchase

From all the positive comments - looks like I should be getting a CB.
I have had a CB for about a year (and have loved it), but after getting a Wizard last month, I can't believe the difference, especially with the embossing. The results with the Wizard are absolutely amazing!! Love it!!
It's hard to be impartial when you've only used one product, but I LOVE my Sizzix Big Kick. It works with sizzlits, bigz, original sizzix size, quickutz, quickutz revolution, quickutz cookie cutters, fiskars embossing plates, sizzix embossing plates, cuttlebug embossing folders, brass stencils, and (although I don't have any) nestabilities. It is large, but it is oh so sturdy, which I really like! Have fun with your new toy, whichever you do decide to buy.
I think the appeal of the Cuttlebug, for me, was that it was a very inexpensive, very small footprint way to get into the die cut/emboss option. Before the Bug, I had never even considered a die cut machine, due to cost and space. A year later, I'm not feeling the need for anything bigger or better. I still love my Bug, but I can see how it could be a "gateway drug." LOL
I think the appeal of the Cuttlebug, for me, was that it was a very inexpensive, very small footprint way to get into the die cut/emboss option. Before the Bug, I had never even considered a die cut machine, due to cost and space. A year later, I'm not feeling the need for anything bigger or better. This was me as well---loved how inexpensive the Bug was (with a 50% off coupon, of course ;) ), not to mention the embossing folders. It does everything the Big Kick does without having to buy anything extra (Big Kick requires an additional purchase to cut other manufacturers' dies), and it works GREAT! People continue to say how sturdy the Big Kick and Wizard are (apparently in comparison to the Cuttlebug), but mine seems unbreakable and I've also NEVER cracked/broken a cutting plate either. There's really nothing not to love about the CB!!! HTH!

I have been stamping, making cards and scrapbooking for years. SCS has been an expensive site for me to hang out on! After reading so much about the Bug and then, some enabler mentioned that customcrops had it for $35, I took the plunge. That was in November and I have been having a ball with mine! I even talked two friends into buying one! The Wizard sounds like it would a good machine too. I wasn't sure that I wanted to put a large amount of cash into the machine because I wasn't sure I would use it very much. Also, the size of the Bug and it's ease of portibility were pluses for my situation. Whatever your choice, you will really like it, I'm sure.
I highly recommend getting the cuttlebug. It does wonderful embossing and quickly so you can do lots of cards in no time. I hand embossed too which took forever and am soooo glad I bought the cuttlebug. I also have a cricut and love the cuttlebug 10 times more than my cricut. The cricut won't emboss but the cuttlebug embosses and die cuts too. I bought my cuttlebug for 35.00 on www.creativeexpress.com. Great buy. I would recommend buying the divine swirl, happy birthday, and textured textile as the first embossing folders if you can only get a few. The textured textile looks like lace and the Happy Birthday cards are one of my most made cards, then the swirl goes with anything and everything. Happy Embossing !!!! Beckaroni :-P

I've never heard of this machine until recently and am thinking of getting one. Have been pricing them up here (UK) and they're roughly $110-$140 :( I so wish I live in the States! I can't believe you can buy yours with a coupon and get them at bargain prices!

I just happened to come across a site selling cuttlebugs and they have one for 135.00...that includes international shipping (45.00) AND you get an alphabet set to choose that's included in that price! That's another 70.00 value here in the states so probably even more for you in the UK...check it out!!!....hope it's something you can use!
