Default Desktop Tool Caddy

I am looking for a recommendation for a tool caddy to keep on top of my crafting table. I tried to use the AMM upright tote but it isn't working since things fall down in the middle and I can't see what is in there. Please share what you use. Thanks!

Longaberger Spin Organizer Basket. In my Longaberger business, I have sold a ton of these to scrapbookers. I have a couple clients with two.

It's really perfect and has a nice divided protector. It's got a handle so you can tote it around, and it does spin very nicely.

I got one from Staples that's meant for office supplies. It spins. I also have a round tote with a handle that has compartments. I just put that on the table on top of a rubbermaid round tray that spins. I can't think of the correct name. You use them in cabinets. If I ever am invited to a Pampered Chef party, I may get their organizer. Eileen

Yep, it is black now. I wish it was still white but at least it doesn't show inky finger prints. I just got mine and love it!

I love the wine rack cups idea! I'm a wine drinker so that just seems fitting.

The Longaberger basket....No WAY would I pay $100 for a basket to hold stuff. EEK! I'd rather spend that money on stamps!

I like the square spinning thing from the Target collection - those drawers they have in their scrapbooking section.

It has a divided, removable part in the center, 2 sides have "windows" for putting pictures in, one side is metal for putting magnets on, and the other side has 3 pieces of elastic to slide tools or rulers into. Also on the sides with the windows there is a drawer on each. One drawer is divided into 3 sections, the other is just 1 section.

I have a special Longaberger basket to hold everyday pencils & pens.

The basket is a set this month that includes the plastic protector, which I think is usually around $18 - the basket I think is $79.

They are handmade in USA, of maple, and for a lot of us they are works of art, not simply baskets.

Have you ever seen Nantucket Lighthouse baskets :-D? Or Navajo baskets? :-D :-D Sometimes a single basket will cost thousands.

I use a lot of my Longaberger baskets when I'm stamping and working on projects. The spin organizer basket, for me, took up too much space and doesn't have enough of divided sections to stand tools on end. (love the baskets though, just went to Dresden for the yearly pilgrimage!)

Another vote for the PC tool thingy & love the wine rack idea! but wander through your house for stuff that makes you smile - it just might work. I like to be organized but to use fun things to get there (eg. a really cool artsy vase that leaks but holds my paint brushes or antique utensil carrier to keep tapes/glues handy)...whatever catches me fancy!

I too, have a PC turnabout tool thingy. It's awesome. I also have a Scrap Paper Scissors tote from Michael's that is awesome as well. Here's a link for it, it's the smaller totes:

I utilize & recommend the Pottery Barn Kids Art/Craft Lazy Susan (available in-store at PBK locations only; white-painted, honey-stained, or espresso-stained finishes, & ~$45/each). HTH & happy organizing!

I absolutely love Longaberger! I have many of them and use them as much as I can. Is there a close-up pic of the divided protector anywhere? or maybe a pic from a different page in the catty?

My turn-around is an old wooden one about 15 inches in diameter that I got for a dollar at a yard sale. I repainted it. On it I keep cans (for my pens) from sweetened and condensed milk because they are ribbed at the top, short enough for me to see my pens, and shiny silver. (And when I need a new one, I'm FORCED to make my fave dessert to get one!) Also taller glasses with scissors (exactly like the blue ones on the wine rack!) and brushes. I also like the formula cans for some things because they are silver ready-to-go after you peel the label. I make my friends save them for me.
