I just found out I'm getting a Cricut for my birthday (hooray!) and I really love Disney. The carts are on sale at Michael's right now. I was thinking about getting one of them, but once you cut out all the pieces, how hard are they to put together? And do they turn out well with all the create or just the expression?
I think it just depends on how small you make some of them. There is plenty of helpful advice on the different cartridges on the messageboard at www.cricut.com
They are more challenging to put together than the other cricut cuts - but they are super cute and fun! I use a quickstik (sp?) from Quickutz that has a little sticky end and it really helps a ton. I've heard that the Expression is better for cutting, especially the Princesses, but I have the original bug and it does fine for me!!!
Congrats on your new baby!!!! You are going to love it. It is so fun to play with it. I am amazed every time I use my cricut. They are sometimes tedious to put all the little pieces together, but soooo worth it!!
You can also try a glue pen for tiny pieces. I just use my mono glue and get it everywhere, but i love it! LOL
FYI, I was at 2 different Michael's this morning and they were out of the Disney carts and were not going to receive any more before the weekend. Hobby Lobby has all carts on sale, 2 for $89. That's where I ended up getting mine.
Congrats on your new toy!! I love my machine! I have the little bug and it is a pain to put the tiny pieces together on the princesses, especially the eyes. BUT it can be done. I use a liquid glue called "Elmer's Craft Bond for Fabric and Paper" (acid free) to assemble all the pieces and it works fine for me. It works easy and isn't runny.
I was really struggling between the Micky and Friends and the Tinkerbell cartridges, since I could only afford one. I thought the fairies would be cool, but I really have more use for Mickey. My 17-year-old went to Disneyworld with Orchestra, so I have some pages in mind to do...like sort of a grunged-up Mickey, lol. I have some great "teen grunge" paper I thought I'd use to cut out some of Mickey's things...besides, I feel much more virtuous when I get something with my son in mind!
