Do some people use Tombow Mono Multi green bottle instead of snail?
I thought I may have read a few people mention this. Is this a good snail alternative for making cards, layers etc? So far I've only used it to stick down tiny things.
Pros/Cons?
Erin

Folks use a lot of adhesives--it depends on the application.
Mini Glue Dots work well for many punched out things, and I like using the Quickie Glue Pen for tiny or delicate punched out things, and it is my favorite for applying (loose) glitter in tight spots!
I hear lots of people love Zip Dry Glue for gluing down both paper layers and tiny/delicate things, but, for those sensitive to odors or fumes, it can be unpleasant (?). But, I haven't tried it yet cuz I am sensitive.
I use Kokuyu for paper layers--LOVE IT and won't use anyting else now! It's similar to the Tombow Monoadhesive, but, without any of the issues that the mono always seems to have (adhesive boogers, snapping/breaking off mid-way, disengagement issues, etc.)
Diamond Glaze is great for loose gemstones, and some heavier embellishments, etc.
Xyron (machine + adhesive cartridge) is great for all over surface applications, such as covering a tin or a box or an album (alterables, I guess you could say?) and the machines and their cartridges come in a wide range of sizes--I own 3 different sizes now, and the 2.5" one is on my wish list. And, yes, I do use 'em all! ;)
HTH,

ZIP DRY on almost everything, and yes I'll use the mono snail (SU! snail, same thing...) i USED to use mono multi, but as the bottle gets low it gets really hard to squeeze and I have tendonitis (piano injury...it's a hazard. lol) so i don't really use it anymore...

I only use the Tombow Multi bottle for dew drops and other hard embellishments. I use the ATG for paper to paper...and glue dots for buttons, primas and ribbon ends or soft embellishments. And I use EK foam dimensionals for paper to paper with a lift...Xyron for diecut letters...and then all those glue pens...AHHH!!
I am over-run with adhesives, yet I still see some I haven't used on these threads!!

I am too messy with my Mono Multi!! LOL I usually have it all over my fingers then it gets all over my project. I usually only use it for 3d projects and adhering cardstock to chipboard.
I just got an ATG gun and haven't decided if I like it or not. I do know that I hate paying so much for SNAIL.
I love the mono multi glue. A little goes a long way, and I like how you have a brief window of opportunity to move a piece that doesn't go down exactly right. I've saved tons on adhesive since I started using it for most paper-to-paper sticking.
Ok, on this subject. What does SNAIL stand for? And is Crystal effects purely a Stampin' Up product? I've heard great things about it so I thought I's throw that out there! =)
Great question Erin!!!

Thank you! I thought it was just me. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get the stuff out of the bottle. Where do you buy your zip dry?

This is how I felt too until I found the Kokuyu that Julie mentioned; it's VERY sticky! I still use the mono-multi though; I feel it's a lot more affordable. Since it has openings on both ends, when it gets down to the bottom, I use the wide end; since I store it standing up, the last of the glue is settled on that end, no squeezing needed!

if you use liquid glue, does it takelonger to dry or get lumpy? I've always just used mono/snail, but I'm always interested if there is something out there that is better or more affordable. I had a problem with all of my layers that I had embossed with my CB staying attached really good and went through almost 6 dispencers to make my Christmas cards this year.

Zip Dry does NOT warp the paper, no matter how much you use, and it dries quite fast.
I love that green lidded glue!!! I use that with little dots all around and love the fact that you can move things around a bit as I hate crooked layers. Still use the Snail when I am in a hurry or if I am being really lazy.

I LOVE Tombo! I switched from SU's snail because the adhesive always wore off! After a couple weeks (I like to display my cards) the layers would just fall off! Frustrating! If you're careful with the tombo and don't glob it on (you barely have to squeeze it), it works great!
I use my green Tombo for almost everything...it is very economical and does require a little practice to figure out how much is needed. I like that I can realign my layers before it dries all the way. I usually use SNAIL on DSP though so it doesn't bubble and wrinkle.

I love my mono multi! I still have my sticky strip, and glue dots and even dimensionals. lol It is true though, with mono multi a little goes a looong way. lol
I've got the Tombo Mono Multi Aqua - it's in a blue bottle. It applies a light transparent blue but dries clear. The only time I use it is when I glue dot won't stick - like adhering to fabric, cloth, textured cardstock, etc.
Glue dots are my go-to adhesive for small items. Otherwise, it's Scotch double-sided tape all the way!
Just a word of warning about the green bottle of Mono Multi. I recently started using it and noticed that my eyes and skin would always itch after using it. One day I read the bottle and it clearly states on the bottle that it contains Natural Rubber Latex. If you are sensitive to latex, as I am, you may also be sensitive to this product. This bummed me out because I thought it was a pretty good product.

Julie, that is quite funny. I actually like the Tom bow glue and use it a lot.
Joan, you caught that one too.
Oops! Sorry to confuse--I was referring to the gummy like boogers with the Tombow Monoadhesive (dry adhesive tape) runner--SU! calls it SNAIL--not the Mono Liquid GLUE. I hear lots of folks love the liquid GLUE adhesive!
