Early in Nov, I ordered the Soft Subtles and Rich Regals--my favorites. They were all nice and juicy, and I was feeling very fortunate. So I ordered Bold Brights and Earth Elements spots the end of Nov. When they came, several were dry. I turned them upside down, smooshed them around, etc. and most turned out ok. Only 4 needed to be replaced.
That was fine, except when the replacement shipment came, they had sent Pink Passion instead of Pixie Pink. <sigh> So yesterday the replacement for the replacement Pixie came, and it was totally dry! I could tell when I tried smooshing it that it wasn't going to work. Aaargh! I feel like I've been waiting forever!
So I just placed an order for the Pixie Craft refill--along with some cardstock to make it worth the shipping. I don't really want to wait any more and take another week to receive what could be another dry spot. Anyway, I just had to vent. And I guess it's karma after I was feeling so lucky that my spots weren't dry!
I ordered RR, EE, and SS craft spots during the promotion and received 8 that were dry. That stinks, but look at it this way. They're great about replacing things and fixing their mistakes.
I ordered RR and EE back in September. I actually haven't opened a few of the colors, but so far the only one that's dry is Cameo Coral - not one of my favorite colors. I should check the ones I haven't used yet before I place my next order, I may need to buy some ink refills. And I used ruby red so much on my Christmas cards that I need a refill for that one already anyway.

Actually, this is the very reason Stampin Up resisted putting out the craft spots in the first place. They felt, rightly so, that the craft in is difficult to consistently ink a small pad and keep wet. But customers begged for the spots for 2 years. So they caved. Your demo should be informing you when you buy these spots that they will tend to dry easily. You need to buy the cooresponding reinkers for them.
Since this ink is thick, they have to be careful not to overink the pads or they are goopy and frustrating. They seem to be erring on the side of dry. Honestly, as an almost exclusive craft pad user, I would rather have a pad a little dry than goopy.
Good luck to you all. Spots are inexpensive, but in the long run it is hard to consistently ink these tiny pads well. I suggest buying reinkers.

I have the Cat's Eye pigment inks by color box. The set I have is a couple of years old now and they are still nice and juicy. Is pigment ink the same as craft ink? They are about the same size as the SU ones (maybe a tad bigger).
