I have found some Ek Success Punches at Michael's that do scalloped edges and such. Has anyone on here tried them? Are they heavy duty? Go through thick paper?
I find the Martha Stewart ones flimsy.
Please fill me in!!
Thanks!
Lesley

There's another thread here about the EK Success punches and in the discussion those who have them have been saying that they do punch well with SU and PTI cardstock.
I picked one up last week and at this point I'm happy, but then again I haven't tried it out on SU paper..!.. EK success makes SU so I would think they are ok. However, I have been having problems with a few SU punches lately..hmm....I have one MS and I'm happy with that too, they are also made by EK success.....interesting.

I hope they work with SU paper! EK makes their punches to different specifications for different companies so the Martha ones (EK makes those, too) are not necessarily the same quality as the SU ones, since SU wants to make SURE it will punch through their paper! I looked at them at M's today and thought I would go back with a coupon and try one.
I have several already and really love them! I haven't had any problem with them going all the way through SU card stock... the embossing ones even emboss the card stock, too!
The only problem I'm having is that some of them are waaaaay over lubricated. While punching a new punch on scrap paper several times to get rid of any excess oil is a good idea anyway, I've had a couple that were so gloppy, that I had to exchange them. I punched around SEVERAL pieces of 12x12 scrap and they were STILL leaving oily spots on the paper! But over all, I really love them. I love that the border punches are smaller than most other border punches on the market right now, and since they lock closed, you can stack them, line them up, whatever, and the little image on the edge tells you what each punch is. They really do save room.
I bought the scalloped snowflake one at Christmas and it worked fine. I had bought the MS version at Walmart first, but it was garbage. It's so weird the EK Success makes punches under all 3 names and yet there are SO many problems with the MS punches.
I have a bunch of the smaller shape punches from EK Success as well, and have had no problems with them either.
I hate that companies are allowed to operate under so many different names. They present the consumer with this illusion of a competitive marketplace, when it's not.

The new EK edger punches are GREAT. I've only read good reveiws about them. Also, they ahve a lock, so they stay closed and they are easier to store. HTH
I bought so many of them I think I nearly cleared out the Michaels display...lol
So far I am loving them..they cut SU and Papertrey CS just fine.
blessings.
The ones that emboss as well as punch borders need a lot of pressure to work well on SU CS. That being said, I've found them much easier to line up correctly on SU CS than on lighter-weight paper.

I love all of mine The one that embosses I figured out it you push it once to punch and push it a second time (with out moving your paper) the embossing comes out really well.
If I could have one of each I would. I love them as I think they line up easier than SU and Fiskars and punch easily through Papertrey and SU cardstock.
Can someone with the EK Punch answer this? Does the EK Punch line up with SU's Spiral Punch or is it a different size?
If it is a different size does the EK really work for spiral notebook?
I have the EK binding punch, but don't have the SU one. I read here that they are different sizes. I just tried the EK on a spiral notebook, and it didn't fit. So I'm thinking it's probably just decorative.

I bought some from Michael's and haven't had any problems cutting through SU or PTI cardstock. PTI I had to use a little more muscle, other then that, no problem.
