Default Embossing ink marker?

I have a friend that loves the way it looks when she journals with her Versa Marker and then embosses. She's having trouble with her marker being dry and she hasn't used it THAT much. She's willing to buy another one, that's not the point. Does anyone have a suggestion of a different type of marker that might work better for her? TIA

I know EK success makes a marker with embossing ink in it. I have had mine for four years, but I haven't used it a lot so I don't know how dry it gets. I think I saw them recently at Mike's. The ink is quite blue which is only a problem if you are embossing in clear or white.

Tell her to get a versamark re-inker and ink the tip. That way it will be nice and wet anytime she wants to use it.

hmmm..... that might be an idea. I don't think the marker from EK would work. I don't think she'd want the blue showing through, but I will let her know. Thanks.

I am not a fan of the Versamark Marker. Honestly, I never had success with it EVER being wet enough for the EP to stick. I don't have any suggestions for you, but a simple vent on my part concerning the marker your friend is having trouble with.

I too would be interested to find a marker that you can write and emboss with. I find the Versamark point too thick for what I want and the embossing powder does not stick very well. I would like to handwrite sentiments and emboss them. Any body out there have any luck with any product?

She may not want a look this thin, but you can emboss erasable ballpoint ink. Just be sure the pen says erasable. I don't know how long it stays wet enough to emboss--I've only written a couple words at a time such as on a card. She may want to try it, though--ballpoints are cheap.

You might try a clear Glaze pen by Sakura. The Glaze pens already leave a raised look, but not as noticeable as embossing powder. But they do have about a 10 to 15 minutes drying time, so I'm sure they would stay wet long enough to emboss.

I also found a pen that looked like a ball point but had glue instead of ink. I did some embossing of words with that. Not lots of journaling at once, but I did do more than a couple of words.

good luck!

Haven't tried it, but what about a pigment marker or pigment pen? Since pigment pad inks stay wet and hold the embossing powder, maybe the pens would stay wet long enough to emboss too.

Well, I happened to be at my LSS yesterday and right there behind the counter was embossing markers, the ones by EK. I snatched one up for $3.49 (I think) and gave it to my friend. She called me just a couple of hours later, she loves it! I told her the suggestion about using the reinker and I'm oging to tell her about the erasable ink too. Thanks so much for your help.
