I don't understand....won't the glue get on the whole stamped image? How do you get the glitter just in a few strategic places? Am I really, really dumb??
No, you are NOT dumb!!!
Yes, your entire stamp does get glue on it. Sometimes I want my background to be glittery, say Itty Bitty Backgrounds or swirls. For me to try an apply the glue pen after stamping makes it very messy. Also there are detail images like Snowflake Spots you want to be glittery so you stamp with the glue pad and add your glitter as though you were embossing. Tap off the excess and let it set for a few minutes - done. You do not have to heat set as you do with heat and stick powder to get the same effect. The glue pad is tacky like the Versamark pad. The instructions say you can also use with chalk, pigment powder or leaf. I haven't tried that yet. It is a water-based adhesive and put out by the same folks that make Staz On. HTH
Thanks stampers for the infor about this pad. I have a friend picking one up for me. My LH doesn't carry it. I think it is going to be a great tool. If we don't get it in our catty it will be the only non-SU product I use.
It also holds the glitter better. I have used the heat and stick and glitter ep and the glitter tends to shed continually. With the glue pad (if you allow it to dry); it holds the glitter and there is barely if any glitter shedding. It is a must have.
It's like ink that sticks like glue. I have one and used it for glitter. It's a stamp pad, so you -ink- it up with the glue -ink- and then you push your stamp into the pad. Then you stamp the image on paper or whatever and then sprinkle whatever you want onto it and it sticks. And the cool thing about this pad is that you don't have to get out the heat gun. And you don't have to worry about overheating the glue and drying it out like with heat and stick and it is very sticky. You just let it dry a bit and you are good to go. I love it. I just need to find a place that sells refills.
I just bought the refill from stampingcottage.com . It was $3.59, and they were offering free shipping for orders over $25. I found the site from an ad here, and I received my order in less than a week.
