Lightbulb Forum for Cuttlebug?

With all the Cuttlebug (and similar) threads who else thinks there should be a separate forum for Die Cutting which would include Cuttlebug, Big Shot, Cricut and other die cut machines? It seems like close to 50% of the threads are either about the machines or dies and embossing folders. Not complaining, just saying it would be easier to navigate the message board if these had their own forum.

Well, looking again maybe I exaggerated a bit on the 50%, but the Cuttlebugitis thread is one humongous thread and there are many, many other threads with similar topics.

I think the Cuttlebug Mania has slowed considerably from Nov and Dec. I'm working on a Cuttlebug FAQ, so maybe we can get that made into a sticky. That would reduce the questions from people who just can't face the gigantic CB thread, I hope.

I think it would be fun to have a Cuttlebug Forum, but I'm not sure Splitcoast would want to set that kind of precedent. You might get more notice from SCS on this if you posted it to the Site Suggestions forum.

I think a die cutting forum (not vendor specific) would be great! Just like stamping 101, die cutting 101...works for me!!!

Amy, what a great idea to do an FAQ because there are a LOT of FAQ'S regarding die cut machines! The original thread that started the whole thing has SOOO much info and I would guess that most of the questions asked are answered somewhere in there but who wants to wade thru 30 pages to find a quick answer when it's so much easier to start a new thread??!! I think an FAQ will be really useful; thanks in advance for doing it!

As a non die cut machine owner, I do get the teeniest bit annoyed by all of the cuttlebug threads in general stamping. Granted - it's mostly jealousy that keeps me annoyed. But, I have come to the general stamping thread a little less just to avoid all the die cut machine talk. Now, if one day I finally decide it's worth the money to get a die cut machine, I would hate to annoy everyone else with my newbie questions, so again, a die cutting 101 forum would be nice...

I think for the most part it is pretty much self-contained in two or three threads in this forum?.........

Oh if you look you'll see there are TONS of threads on the subject. I think a separate die-cutting forum would be great (Die Cutting 101 Talk or something and it could just go under the General Stamping and Scrapping talk).

I think it would be nice to have that so that the General Stamping forum could get back to *stamping* ;) and then all the die-cutting threads (sizzix, CB, BS, cricut etc etc ETC) could all be contained in one place!!

I guess I have just learned to ignore and pass over threads that I am not interested in.

Yep! That's exactly what I'm talking about.

It just seems like since the Cuttlebugitis thread is getting so large and there are lots of other similar threads and the interest seems to still be going strong it might warrant its own forum.

A sticky sounds like another good option to keep from having repeat threads, but can you imagine what it will be like if they introduce more new products at CHA?

Just to address this in advance - I am not against the threads, in fact, I have an interest in them, so much so that I have purchased almost every embossing folder and a variety of die cuts. It's just that I like things to be organized and easy to find and think this would help the board run more smoothly.

I do that too  then one day it hit me that I was having to go to hte second and THIRD pages here in General Stamping to find any STAMPING threads (of course this was before I got my CB so all the threads about them were total Greek to me so I passed them up ;)) - THAT's when I started thinking that maybe we really DO need a Die-Cutting/embossing 101 Forum!!! LOL

If there had not been some Cuttlebug info mixed in the stamping talk I would be a little richer and not have the Cuttlebug. But I'm so glad I heard the information and opinions on this subject. I found out that Mike's will take the Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's coupons, and I used this to get my Bug. And I love my Bug. I've learned so much since I've been here. This is a wonderful site. My only complaint is that I can't seem to get off. Here it is after midnight and I'm still here. Love this place.
