Question Fun Flock vs.Flower Soft vs.Doodlebug Velvet Flock

Hi. I read the posts about Flower Soft, but didn't see any comparisons to Fun Flock or Doodlebug Velvet Flock. We only have one stamp store here. They sell Flower Soft, and it's $5+ for a tiny jar. The flowers they made weren't soft. Fun Flock is half the price of Flower Soft. Are they the same? Similar? Is Fun Flock soft after it's glued to wire or paper?

Doodlebug Velvet Flock looks interesting, too. Can anyone compare these products? I'm in a rural area.None of the stores have them, except Flower Soft at the one store. Thanks!

The flower soft is more textured. You can almost see they are tiny little star shapes. The flocking is more like a straight piece of fiber. I have used both and the flower soft was easier to handle (ie no static like the flock).

That is just my take of these products.

I dont think flock is anything like Flower Soft. I got one jar the other day to play, and it is pretty cool. I dont think flock could make the same appearance that flowersoft could.
Flock is quite soft when you touch it. I use it for birds and such to make it fuzzy to the touch. Flowersoft is way more dimensional.

As stated above, the two products are not comparable. It's at the edge of comparing apples vs. oranges. Flower soft is much more like adding a 'floral-texture' or 'floral likeness' to a stem or to images. Flock is simply "fluffy stuff" as in sheep's wool, a rather 'fluffy monotone' addition. I know ... the distinctions get lost in the translation, until you have handled both items. ;)

Just so you are aware, the "tiny" jar of Flower Soft is actually LOTS of product. You dump the contents of that jar into a larger container and "fluff" it up ... you end up with LOTS of the stuff. So it is kind of deceiving in those little jar, but they really do hold a lot. You could never get the stuff back into that tiny jar once it is fluffed up. I love the Flower Soft, it is a great product to use and very durable. I have mailed cards using Flower Soft and they arrive perfectly.

I use the Aileen's tacky glue - it is the same glue that comes with the Flower Soft.

Thumbs up Thanks for the help, and Great source for Flower Soft

Thanks to everyone who responded to my query about Flower Soft. I bought one jar at a stamp store (they were out of the colors I wanted) and played with it and really like it. I found a great online source. The last time I tried to include a web address, this system wouldn't allow it. So, I'm going to put a link with spaces in it. Just delete the spaces. $4.75 for ANY color, 30 ml (large) jar, plus exact postage. I bought 6 jars and some paper and shipping was only $3.26! When you get to the site, on the left of your screen, you'll see Flower Soft, Flower Soft2, and Flower Soft 3. You have to click on each in order to see all colors. www. abitofthisnthat. com/FLOWERSOFT3. html

Another site sells the older colors for $4.49 each and $5.49 for newer colors. Shipping to me for 4 jars would be $4.95. Not bad. www. customcrops. com/index.php?cPath=102

I hope it's okay to give this info. I'm new to SCS, but I've seen others posting prices and sources. I apologize in advance if I shouldn't do that.
