I am bringing this question up again hoping somebody sees it that has tried this product. It was advertised on Crafttvweekly: glimmer mists. They had gorgeous colors; 6.99 for 2oz. The thing of it is is that it reminds me of something I saw before where Pearl Ex or Perfect Pearls were used in reinker....I think. The rest of the liquid was just water. It would be great to be able to mix up our own colors if it were possible for spray misting. Has anybody else tried the glimmer mists or made some of their own version?
Are you thinking of when you mix pearl ex with liquid hairspray, shake it up and then spray it onto the paper? I have done this many times and love it. I do not know how or what these glimmer sprays look like, but love the pearl ex/hair spray combos.
Don't know one where you mix it with reinkers and water and pearl ex.

Do you mean Lindy's Stamp Gang's sprays? These are incredible and they have different kinds with different levels of shimmer and opalescence. I used it on the bird here ( brown with turquoise shimmer):
BTW, to make Pearl Ex Shimmer spray you do not need to use GASS in order to make this. What you do is take the cheapest liquid hair spray you can find (I use the Equate brand from Walmart), pour about 2 oz into a travel size spray bottle (you can find them in the travel sizes section for about 50 cents each), then add about 1/8-1/4 tsp. of pearl ex to the bottle, Put the lid back on, shake well and you have your spray. The reason for using the cheapest is that it has a higher alchol content and that helps the paper dry faster. When you start spraying mask off a large area with newspaper or whatever then start pumping your bottle till you get a fine mist (do this onto the scratch paper, newspaper), once it is spraying in a nice fine mist hold it about 12-18 inches above your paper and spray it. Let the mist fall onto the paper, it makes it look much nicer that way. The paper will curl as it dries. If you lay it under some heavy books for a little while it flattens right out. Hope this helps, I love using this spray on card stock. Some of my favorites are:
Aztec Gold pearl ex onto creamy caramel paper (gold colored paper)
silver pearl ex onto going gray paper (a beautiful silver)
copper pearl ex onto really rust paper (copper paper)
inference green onto taken with teal (a lovely green that is great for underwater stamps)
I have tried so many different colors and combos and love it!

Here is an excerpt from the thread I listed above in post #4 with the reasoning for not using hairspray:
Lots of people use hairspray as a sealant and/or PE base; however, while it has polymers that will give you the bond that you're looking for, it also has chemicals that are not acid-free. Because it is *not* acid-free, deterioration will begin in a fairly short period of time, yellowing your creation.
I was in a shop in Marietta, GA last weekend and asked the owner if he had heard of Glimmer Mist. He actually had a sample bottle and sample swatches because he is probably going to carry it. He demoed it for me and I absolutely loved it. I can't wait until he starts carrying it.
I have some that i made in a water mister bottle with pearl ex powder and alcohol ink drips. the alcohol ink seals the pearl ex so it doesn't rub off when its dry and you don't have the acid free issues like with hair spray.
just another thought, it gives a similar effect though as the glimmer mist from what i have seen posted on line. ( Haven't seen this in person yet)
