Default Good Alternative to Pearl Ex?

I like the look of Pearl Ex but absolutely hate the mess it makes. Does anyone know of a good alternative to PE that doesn't make so much mess?

Thanks

Have you tried metallic watercolours? I've got some by US ArtQuest called Jewelz. They are pigmented mica watercolour paints. They are great to work with and come out really shiny. Here is a card I made with them. Much shinier IRL. HTH!

Here's a link- http://www.usartquest.com/cgi-bin/Sh...ion&key=PRL803
Love it-in my gallery I have examples of butterflies that I embossed and then watercolored with this stuff. Also twinkling h2o's work the same way, you buy them one color at a time- or in packs of 6 Here's one source http://www.cornishheritagefarms.com/index.php/cPath/199

I like using Twinkling H2O's, they are like metallic watercolors. They come in lots of different colors too.

You can mix your Pearlex with Gum Arabic and water and make your own watercolors. I'm pretty sure there is something on the Pearlex website or rubbstampinglinks.com on how to do it.

I use sets of cheap eye shadow that I get at places like Walmart. For $5 you can get a tray with 24 tiny wells of eye shadow. I use the applicator that comes with them. I actually like it better than pearl ex because of the range of colors I can find. Also you can put 2 colors at a time on an applicator to make your own mixed color.
