I'm doin' the Happy Dance!! My friend and I both got our Cuddlebugs today with a 40% off coupon from Micheals today. We are super excited as we didn't even know what a Cuddlebug was until last week when another friend brought it up north to show us. We were sh---ing our pants over that little machine!! Can't wait to make all kinds of goodies with it. Just had to share my news. I haven't been this excited about a product since Icicle Stickles!!
Ok, I need your help. I've been thinking about the cuttlebug for months. If you have a cuttlebug, do you still need your punches?? I don't have a lot of flat space in my craft area. Will this be one more tool that sits in my closet (lots of space there) w/my stamp-a-majig, xyron adhisive machine, and coluzzel cutter? These are all great tools, but too much trouble to pull out for small projects. I'm finding I only have time for small projects these days.
P.S. I'm starting to get more into scrapbooking, but I'm mostly a cardmaker at heart.

I really only use my cuttlebug for embossing, I don't do the diecuts, I don't really like them. But I use mine all the time, I love it!!

Not to hi-jack, but <gasp> you keep your jig in the closet? I cannot stamp without it, and I have sweet friend who stamps standing up and actually keeps hers in her pocket....
I keep looking at all these cards made with the cuttlebug! I already have the Sizzix machine- I so don't need to invest in another die cut machine but I love the embossed card fronts...... Gosh- what to do???

I felt the same way -- my friend even let me borrow her cuttlebug while she was on vacation for three weeks. While she was gone, I realized that the cuttlebug dies work in the sizzix if you have the converter -- and the embossing folders work also! Now I'm loving my Sizzix and don't need to buy a cuttlebug (yet LOL! that is until the next great thing comes along).

I also have the stamp-a-majig, and coluzzel cutter and a bunch of punches. I would trade them ALL in for a Cuttlebug! (well, maybe not the stamp-a-majig, I still use it a lot). The dies for the CB are so much cheaper than a punch - and the CB will cut thru chipboard, which the punches do not.
I found a lot of sizzix dies on clearance at creativexpress.com, and on eb*y. These work great with the CB - especially with the chipboard. Oh My Word!!!
And now Spellbinders has come out with the new Nestabilities. (If you haven't seen the threads here, do a search. You will be blown away). These are so much cheaper than the mega punches, and again Chipboard!
I was leery at first, too, wondering if I would use my CB, but I use it ALL the time.
There are so many testimonials to this great product here at SCS. I'm just adding mine.
Actually, I will use my punches and run them through an embossing folder to give the punched image pizazz!! I was on crazyscraps.com tonight looking for more folders and I saw a die set of fall leaves then crossed it off my list because I still have the oak and maple punches from a few years ago. I am trying not to repeat my products so much. If I would have known what the cuddlebug could do or even known about it at all, I would have gotten it sooner. I can't imagine making cards without it ever again!!

Droooling here in Chicago.... I keep saying I am going to get a cuddlebug... but I keep finding other items... have to rethink Christmas... do you think two teenagers would know what a cuddlebug is?
Congrats on getting your new Bug!
I do not own one, but I do plan on getting the CuttleKids that is coming out, because my 8 yr old son loves to scrap with me. I have the Big Shot, and I am hoping that he will leave that alone if he has his own machine...that I can borrow when he isnt around. ;)

I have used my Cuttlebug every day since I've owned it... but I still need my punches! I don't know of any dies that can do what the word window, spiral and tab punches do.
I can't imagine stamping without my stamp-a-ma-jig or Xyron! These are 2 tools that will never sit in my closet!

I know the Cuttlebug dies you're talking about and you might want to see them in real life before you say "no"! I thought I had all the leaf punches I wanted until I saw the die set of 4 leaves for the Bug. They are much bigger than any of the leaf punches I have (size wise, they are like the images from Whale of a Punch). And the grape leaf is unlike ANY hand punch I have, it's gorgeous!

I know what a cuttlebug is and I'm an 18-year-old-teenager!! But I guess I'm a little different because I adore the cardmaking supplies & materials & all of it!
I've already asked my grandmother for a cuttlebug for Christmas! If she doesn't, maybe Santa will have one... ;)
I decided on a CB because of the dry embossing. I just ADORE the look of dry embossing and I am horrible at it the old fashion way!

I actually used my friend's leaf dies and thought they were great, just trying not to repeat. Another point being, I can use my friends' dies when I need to . We'er into sharing, but not our Cuddlebugs. LOL!

Just leave some catalogues lying around... I'm sure they learn in a hurry
