Default Help I need a good black ink to water color

You guys are all so good. I really need a good black ink that will hold the gray scale going from black to gray to water color with. A good black marker would help. Not the StampinUp! because it goes to purple.Thank you in advance for all of your great ideas.

I love my Palette Noir for watercoloring! It is a true waterproof ink and stays a nice crisp black

I think you are asking about getting a black ink not to stamp with, but to color in an image with? You want it to go from black to gray? Really, the best thing for that is to use a black watercolor cake or tube or mix red, blue and green primary watercolors to create a black. Other than that, a marker really isn't going to give you want easily.

Thanks Joan. You got exactly what I was looking for but didn't ask in the right way. I have used my grandaughter's cheap water color cakes and had not too bad of results, but am looking for something a little better. So, thank you again!

You may want to try a watercolor crayon. I buy them individually at an art store.

Not sure if this would be what you need, but have you tried the neutral assortment of SU's watercolor crayons?

You guys have all come up with such good ideas. No, I haven't tried the WCWC in black as I don't have the neutrals yet. Thanks again!

I use CTMH archival black and it's wonderful. It will make your clear stamps purple, though, after you clean them. It's retiring though.
