HELP!! Question about SU Inks ...

I have a few of the regular sized ink pads (black, brown etc) and 3 sets of the ink spots. I've had them for a couple of years with the exception of one set I've had since January. My question is ... I've been inking some stamps either by blotting them or rubbing the ink pad on the stamps (either acrylic ones or the rubber ones from SU) and it almost seems like they are filled with water. They are so juicy that the stamp (anything that isn't an outline but a full surface like some of the flowers) doesn't get covered but it sort of bubbles up. The stamps get covered if I use a marker but not the acutal ink pad. Any suggestions to get this problem corrected?

Thanks so much for any help!

If your Classic ink pads are overly 'juicy' -- try blotting the surface with a paper towel to remove some of the excess ink. I use the Spots mainly, and sometimes get a little over-exuberant when I re-ink them -- blotting helps a lot! ;)

As far as the 'beading up' of ink on solid areas of a stamp goes -- that's usually related to the surface of the rubber itself. Try inking/stamping/cleaning a few times and see if that helps. If it doesn't you can try rubbing an eraser over the surface of the stamp to rough up the surface ever so slightly so that it will accept the ink better. HTH!
