Glad to be back
What is the CM cutting system like?? Do you love it??I have seen so many beyond gorgeous cards with the circle cut out of them. I have to have something so I can make those!!!
I LOVE the Creative Memories (CM) cutting system!! It is easy to use and the shapes (round oval and differet patterns) have a groove in them that you place one end of the blade into so it goes around nice and easy. I am so bad with a craft knife that I would never get one right any other way!! I think because I am becoming a demo though I cant use my CM cutting system to do workshops and things. Not sure though-anyone know the answer to that? Can I use my CM at my workshops to cut??

I adore my Coluzzle! I love it and there are lots of templates you can get besides circles & ovals. I do think it is worth thye money becuase it is always there and I think very easy to use. I have previously posted tips and techniques on using the Coluzzle. do a searh on here and You should find them. Good Luck! and happy stampin'!
I have coluzzle and 2 days ago, I used my friends CM cutting supplies. I believe CM is much easier. I think it's the spongy mat with coluzzle that I'm not fond of. If I were you, I'd try someone's CM system and then decide.
I have both systems and like each of them, but in my opinion the CM system is far superior - much easier to use, sturdy, there are no "breaks" in your cuts that you have to snip.....It just rocks (but it's pricey). I like the Coluzzle because it is inexpensive, has more templates (I use the tag one all the time) but you have to be careful with the blade or you "shred" your plastic template and then every time you hit that spot in your cutting your blade gets stuck.
I don't know if that helps you or confuses you more, but that's my two cents!
Ok, one more ? What are all the shapes you all are talking about? I thought it just cut pretty circles and ovals!
I knew nothing about these tags that it cuts or anything else.....
The Coluzzle comes in flowers, stars, alphabet, numbers, tags, envelopes and more. I have a few of the shapes and they are rated from easy to difficult. I like my Coluzzle but haven't tried the other system to be able to comment on which is best.
This web site will give you an idea of what is available. Provo Crafts web site
If you do get the Coluzzle system it's nice to color each line with a different permanent marker and that makes it easier to find your line when you get to that cross over point.
I have used both the Coluzzle and the CM cutting systems and have found the Coluzzle much simpler for me to use. The CM system is nice because it cuts a full circle, whereas the the Coluzzle leaves a couple of places that have to be snipped with scissors. But what I found impossible to keep straight were all the different blades with the CM system. There are three blades and each cuts a different depth. And they fit with a circle (or oval) template that can cut two different sizes each (around the outside, or around the inside). So, there's this whole system where they have all the sizes of circles you can make on this piece of plastic, with a color coded key to tell you which blade to use. It's all so entirely confusing to be sure you have the right blade on the right template. The coluzzle simply is what it is. The track that you cut through is the size of the circle it makes - WAY less headache!
I LOVE the coluzzle system. Definitely check out Provo Crafts website. Stampendous has some really cute templates and there are even templates to make 3-D cards. It's amazing what they've come up with in the past couple years. And they are easier to buy as Michaels carries some templates and you could prob'ly find them online or at scrapbook stores.
I love that you can get box templates. I agree with Rox71. Go to Provo Craft and then to creativexpress.com to buy lots of the templates for the Coluzzle!
I really like the creative memories system and now that I got the hang of it I have a lot of colluzzle I will probably sell. You can get all kinds of shapes in CM they come out with more all the time.
Mightymouse, let me know what you have to sell. I might be interested. As you can tell I dont know alot about it yet. So I would need good descriptions or pictures. You can pm me if you would like..Thanks
Coluzzle is a wonderful tool. It looks like a die cut but is much cheaper. I think it cuts like "butta". Michaels seems to be having some clearance on templates right now. I picked up a flower, an alphabet, and doll templates for pretty good deals, at least 50% off if not more.
I got my coluzzle a while back after seeing it in the catty. I purchased the kit at Michaels with a 40% off coupon. I think it retails for $19.99.
You can not only buy templates, but also books that give you ideas. I have not purchased any books but they could be useful.
I'm still amazed that my foam cutting board doesn't even look like I use it. And I have used it plenty. Got some extras on clearance for less than a dollar at Michaels the other day.
BTW, JoAnn's doesn't seem to carry much in the way of this product for some reason. I haven't really noticed much at Archivers either.

I love my coluzzle! The price in the catty is a little cheaper than what I bought it for (24.95). The best thing about the coluzzle is the variety of templates that are out there! I just bought the mini envy template and it ROCKS! It is so much better than tracing and scoring -- a lot faster -- and the coluzzle cuts so easily. I'd say go for it!

I absolutely LOVE my CM cutting system and have enjoyed all the new shapes; however, after this post I may try my Coluzzle system again. I had bought the Coluzzle a long time ago and just did not like that it did not cut all the way out and that my knife got stuck in the bottom "foamy piece"...I will get it out and try it as they have some GREAT new templates
