Default I bought a Klic-n-Kut

Wow, this thing is gigantic!!!! Got the 13".
I haven't done much do to real life obligations but I can't wait to spend time with it. Does anybody know of a good place to get free templates? I've downloaded a few already, just lookin' for more. I'm also converting images/pictures and dividing them up into layers... no major cutting tho.

Anybody else has one?
Got tips?
I've been looking at Paperthreads.com but always lookin' for info.

I can't believe I bought that thing!!!

Putri, congrats! First of all you need to join Sandy McCauley's Yahoo "Klic-N-Kut" Yahoo group.....here's a link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Klic-N...guid=296356001

I have the Pazzles Inspiration as well as the Craft Robo and prior to purchasing the Pazzles, I used my Craft Robo with the Klic-N-Kut Studio GE software (same software you have, but can be used with my Robo) and Sandy is wonderful and has videos that you can purchase to help you learn as well as tutorials and you can also find free files for your KNK there!

Good luck and enjoy!

Pam

I am just now having my brand spanking new Klik-n-Kut Element delivered and I can't wait to get started. I did buy it from Paperthreads. Now I must find out more about the Yahoo group.

Default Yes join the Yahoo KNK Group

Also there are several people that have blogs with free files...

Sandy's blog is awesome and offers some free videos. Here's a couple of sites I visit often.

Thanks for all the info. I haven't had a chance to come back here. Actually, I've only cut four things besides a couple test cut. I work at a university and it was the start of the semester. So far though, it's fun. The only thing I need to do is write down the pressure settings. One for SU, another for x lb, another for bazzill, another for bla bla bla.

I do have my first template to share:
http://www.scrapbit.com/2008/08/30/f...and-jane-died/

And my first projects:
http://www.scrapbit.com/2008/08/27/oh-so-big/ (the title and swirly thingy)
http://www.scrapbit.com/2008/08/26/a-card-for-m/ (the tree)

What's your SU paper pressure and how many passes plus which blade?

Thanks again!

Those look great!

I use the blade for thicker materials for cardstock. I have never cut SU paper, but I cut a lot of Bazzill. Another thing you may find is some colors may cut better at a different pressure. That may sound crazy but that is the experience I have had.

I finally got to play with mine for a while last night and it really is amazing. I'm sure you can get this same info and/or files for free somewhere, but I went to this website, kreations-by-katie.com, and for about 7.50 I downloaded files that allow me to cut 6 different sizes each of scalloped ovals, squares and rectangles. No separate punches, or dies needed. I played w/ them last night and they really cut well. I'm excited about it.

Thanks for the link. I didn't know that the Cricut uses the SVG format. I converted my first template to SVG and added it to my blog so that Cricut users what that software can use it too. Awesome!

I made a scallop template too. Just one. I'll upload and share that when I get them all ready.

I love my Klic N Kut! I have the Element, though now I really want the 13 inch. Maybe someday I will sell the Element and upgrade.

Anyway kreations-by-katie.com is great. She made me a Monster Truck and I cut it in Vinyl and put it on my sons bedroom wall. He loved it.

The Yahoo group talked about above is also great. The group has a greap bunch of people and Sandy's videos are terrific.

And yes you sometimes need different pressures for different colors. Like Black and Reds.
