I must really be lacking in creativity, as I stare at most of the pieces in my hardware sets. I can figure out the more obvious pieces. But there are some things in that kit that I have no idea what to do with. So these pieces are just sitting there. What a waste.
And it is too difficult, without a video and pictures, to have anyone explain all the different uses for the pieces in a website thread.
I was thinking of asking my demo to have a 'hardware' night in the fall, showing us stampers how to use the funny stuff. Anyone else had a demo do an evening like this? Was it successful??
That would be a really good idea! I haven't bought the hardware yet because there are so many pieces that I didn't know how I would use. I didn't want to spend the money and then have it sit on the shelf.
I've had trouble with it as well. In fact, I haven't purchased it because of that very reason. I did recently ask for it as a WRAK. I've received some and decided to search the gallery for examples. That's the only place I know to help figure it out.
I like your idea of hardware night! That's a great idea.

Go to the gallery and search "hodgepodge hardware". I've found SCS to be one of the best resourses. Another idea might be to look for or host a hodgepodge card exchange. The other great ideas I've always found were from card exchanges. All this said, keep in mind that the hardware sets from SU are going to change (this is what my demonstrator told me). If all else fails, maybe you can offer some of the pieces you are not using for sale or trade here on SCS. I'm sure there are other girls out there who would love some of the pieces.
i don't remember everything in there, but i know there's little photo hangers. those are the little hinges with a triangle hanging off them. i had trouble seeing what anyone would use those for, then i saw beate affix one to a card and tie a small piece of ribbon to it. if you have problems with the hardware i suggest taking a look through beate's gallery, she uses hodgepodge hardware all the time.
the only reason I won't buy the HPH kit is because I'll use about 1/2 and the other 1/2 will jus sit. I wish they would break it down into like items. Like all the ribbon slides or all the D rings or all the file label holders separately. I guess if you want the kit NOW is the best time since it is on sale, huh?

i think i need to talk to my su! demo! how much are they right now? are the pretties on sale too? man, wouldn't that be my lucky day.
I may have missed this discussion or it might only be up in the demo area but WHY exactly is SU discounting HPH? Is it getting retired? Repackaged? Remarketed?

I would bet that they are redesigning the hardware- maybe the silver from the last mini will come back along with additional finishes. All I know for sure is that I tend to hoard mine...
If anyone still needs to see great uses of hodgepodge hardware I would highly recomend Markie's mom's gallery. Go to the last page of her gallery and check out nearly every card. She uses HP hardware like nobody's business! A true master!
