I just can't face that 65 page Cuttlebug thread again!
But I have a question and I know the answer to it is buried somewhere!
I have a Sizzix.
I would like to use it with Cuttlebug embossing folders.
I purchased a Birthday folder and "Replacement Cutting Pads".
My understanding is that I make a sandwich with the paper in the middle of the embossing folder and the embossing folder in the middle of the cutting pads.
The cutting pads measure approx a smidge under 6 inches by 7-3/4 inches and will not fit thru my Sizzix.
Is there another smaller version of the "Replacement Cutting Pads" product?
Is there something else I need to do besides the above mentioned sandwich?
Thanks so much for any responses! I just cannot go back through that thread! LOL! It took me all weekend the first time and I have no idea where the little morsels of information I need are buried!

I don't own a Sizzix, but I believe I have absorbed enough info from the CB/itis thread to tell you that you need something referred to as "The Converter", in order to emboss the CB folders on your Sizzix.
It was my understanding that you therefore would NOT need the Cutting Pads.
And, I hear ya' on the CB thread; I can't go back in there cuz it makes my head hurt . . . I had to unsubscribe . . .
I am serious!!!

I use the sizzix. You just use the magnetic converter that allows you to use sizzlets... put your paper in the embossing folder and run it through. It works great!
I am so glad I found this thread, I've been wanting some of those embossing folders SOOOO bad and now I know I can use them! LOLOL (I thought you HAD to have a CB. Didn't know they worked with Sizzix) Yee Haw

I know just how you feel. I "want" to read that thread, but it is so intense, I don't get past page 3 or 4.
I have a Sizzix, and have been wondering if getting the converter and embossing templates is good enough. Or will I regret not biting the bullet and buying the Cuttlebug (which I haven't even seen yet).
Quick thread hijack... If you use a small embossing folder in the sizzix (with converter of course) will it leave an impression around the entire folder? Back to thread.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!
This absolutely answers my question clearly, consicely, and makes my want to run out and buy the embossing sets!
I have browsed the threads, but not really gotten a clear cut answer (some days I'm slower than others! lol) of how to use the embossing sets in the sizzix big red machine. I just got mine last November, no way would hubby approve of my getting the bug! lol
thank you again.. and now they are on my shopping list!

I can only speak from Cuttlebug experience here, not Sizzix. The answer is:
I have the sizzix and use the converter to use the CB embossing folders but my only problem is the CB embossing folder I want the most I can't seem to find it anywhere(including online)... anyone got a clue where I can find the snowflale embossing folder instock.
Allthatscraps.com will be getting them *soon* - I'm on the waitlist (w/ a TON of other ppl - I think they told me that they have 100 on backorder!!!). They said that they are supposed to have *300* in by the end of next week (that's what Provo Craft told them anyway) - so go check them out!!
