Smile I love my Cricut again!

I made these two recipe folders using my Cricut and the cart my sis in law bought me for Chrismtas, "From my Kitchen". I plan on a folder for each type of recipe to give as gifts next year for birthdays and such. I was seriously ready to sell that thing and carts and all, because I could never get the thing to work. I finally got down to business with it this week, and played and learned how to get sizes and all that right. I hope to work with it more in the new year as I have a ton of carts to use.

That is really cute! I have sooo many recipes on papers, and index cards, etc. That would be a neat & cute way!

TFS!

thank you, and I just wanted to tell you I used some cutting files from The Cutting Cafe for the pocket and the recipe cards are from there too.

Hi Connie, not to much trouble at all. As I said I used some cut files from The Cutting Cafe, and you can use svg or cut them out yourself which is what I do. I used her Fun with Pocket file (large pocket) and I used her recipe card file for the cards to put in them. ( I can't remember the exact name but I'll check) I used From my kitchen cart. I cut the words in 1 inch, the large oval in 2", and the next oval in 1 3/4 inch. Use the oval feature and use the cookie key, and it will give u these ovals I used. The little decorations were all cut in 2" size from the same cart. I ink all the edges of everything, I can't help myself! It just looks better to me! As far as storing them, I havent decided on that yet! lol! I made t wo more yesterday, one for desserts, and one for coffee recipes. I'll post a pic later. I hope this is clear, as I'm not good at giving directions, but glad to help!

Glad to have inspired you! As I said I really didnt like mine because I just could't get the hang of it. Can I give you some advice? What I finally did was I got out paper I really didnt like or use, and I just cut all kinds of things, in all kinds of sizes just to see what the thing can do. Then what I did was, I wrote on the back of each thing I cut, what size it was, and sometimes which key or shift or what ever I had used, then get en envelope, put them in and label the envelope as to which cart used for the cuts. It has helped me out alot. ;)

That is the thing that frustrates me most about my Cricut - I can never figure out how to make it cut the size I want. I did what you suggested too, but I'm sure there must be an easier way! Any input from any of you seasoned Cricuters???
