Question Join in the Cheer Sandwich

I'm trying to cut the Join in the Cheer decorative strip die using the Extended Spacer Platform and the Decorative Strip Cutting pads, but this sandwich seems too thick to go through my BS. My sandwich is Extended Spacer Platform, first Decorative Strip Cutting pad, Join in the Cheer die, cardstock, second Decorative Strip Cutting pad. Anyone else finding this sandwich impossible to go through? Thanks for your help and/or suggestions, Pam

Hmm that's really interesting because that is the correct sandwich and it should roll through just fine.

bottom up
Extended Spacer Platform
Decorative Strip Cutting Pad
Die blade side up
Cardstock
Decorative Strip Cutting Pad
Roll through Big Shot

Are you trying to cut more than one piece of cardstock? These dies can only cut one piece at a time. Paper, Cardstock, Vellum or Foil.
They won't cut chipboard or thick items.

The only other recommendation I could make would be to move the die down a little in your sandwich so that it can "catch" in the machine.

Does this make sense?

That's the way it goes. It should work just like militarystampingmom said.

I'm using just one piece of Shimmery c/s. I have the sandwich just as you described, but it just doesn't fit. It seems too thick and I don't want to force it and break my new $$$ toy.

I ended up using the Multipurpose Platform instead of the Extended Platform
since I wanted only the portion that says Peace. Using that platform wasn't perfect as some of the places were not fully cut and I had to finish cutting with my kraft knife.

Anyone else have this problem? Or a solution?
Thanks again,
Pam

Mine at first seemed really tight and felt like it might break or so I thought, but then I thought hey this is what this is for and it should work and if breaks I'll contact SU. It didn't break and now I've used it so many times it doesn't feel like that any more. Goes through great.

Thanks, Renee. I guess I'll make all the other cards I want as BS examples for my clubs/customers first; then give it a try. Sure would hate to break my BS while they are on Back Order. Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate your help.

I know it's scary to try something new but you'll never know unless you try.

Whenever I try a sandwich in my Big Shot if the handle wont turn I know it's to tight.

I would agree with Renee in that you probably just need to run it through a few times to get the "feel" of it.

Ive had a few cases where Ive had to move the die lower on the sandwich so that it would "grab".

I'm sure it will work out just great for you!

Hugs and Blessings

That's good to know... I had the same problem and thought the same way, but I've only done it once so far. Mine was so tight that the top cutting pad got a little warped. I was using 1 piece of regular cardstock that is thinner than SU! cardstock. Oh well... I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one!! My Big Shot is still working so I guess it'll just take a couple more times to loosen up.

Thanks, all!! Have a great day!
