Default Just bought a Cuttlebug - what do I need?

I am so excited. I finally bought a Cuttlebug. What are the best items to buy for it?

I use my cuttlebug mainly for embossing, so over the past year I have purchased several embossing folders. Swiss Dots is the one that I probably use the most, but there are lots of good ones

When I purchased my cuttlebug I also purchased an extra B plate and C plate, but I haven't had to use them yet. I heard that the B plates sometimes break, but mine has been just fine.

Congrats on your new Cuttlebug, you're going to love it!

Grab some embossing folders to start. I rarely use my die cuts any more ....

You can emboss with the folder. You can put chalk or ink (not stazon) on the folder and then emboss. There are quite a few things you can do with 1 embossing folder.

The Stampin Up Top Note die! I just finished making the cutest boxes with chipboard Top Note top and bottoms. I used the back of a legal pad to cut the Top Note and then covers them with designer paper. It goes through but it is a really scary feeling the first time. After I got over the initial push through then I was popping them out like crazy. It was like giving birth the first time...I was panting like crazy! I will go find the camera (do you have it??) and take a pic.

What do you need? Lots and lots of cardstock to run through it. ;)

I've really enjoyed using Nestabilities in mine. I only cut into the B plates and have never needed to replace the C plate.

Have fun with your new 'bug.

I love my bug! Get a few of your favorite embossing folders. I also use Nestabilities in mine alot. I use the scallopped circled and rectangles the most.

Congratulations on your new purchase! What do you need? TIME...time to play with your new acquisition! I agree with getting some Cuttlebug embossing folders. My favorites are Swiss Dots, Textile Texture, and D'vine Swirl. Have fun!!!

How big (exactly) is the Top Note Die? It just looks too big for your average sized card.

Here is one of the best Cuttlebug galleries ever. Lots of examples of beautiful cards and some tutorials also.

My Cuttlebug is one of the best things I've bought for cardmaking. Especially since I got Nestabilities to use with it. You need to check them out, too.

Have fun!

I have one pr of B plates, exclusively used for embossing,
one pr of B plates for using with dies. Love the embosslits (cuts and embosses in one step!). xl dies will fit in cuttlebug too, so I won't buy the big shot (more $$ for dies!).
so much fun, so little time!

Default So much fun!

The Cuttlebug is so much fun - you're really going to enjoy it. You can also use some Sissix products in the Cuttlebug.

And if you feel like reading, the Cuttlebug FAQ thread is full of information - I've read all the posts - took weeks but I did it. Since there's a lot of repetition, it might be useful to read the first couple of pages and the last couple of pages. Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Enjoy your new toy!
