Default Magnetic plate question

Does anyone know if the Evolution Advanced die cutting machine will handle the SU magnetic plate? I have tried calling We R Memory Keepers but the phone number is no longer in service. I tried calling when my email question was never answered. Hope someone on the board will know the answer. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi! I have an Evolution -- what are the dimensions of the SU magnetic plate? It accommodates a lot of different thicknesses but needs to fit through the opening. (Do you have an Evolution or thinking of buying it?)

Thanks for your reply! I am going to buy one very soon. Love the fact you can use it by hand or purchase the motor. The magnetic platform is 6 1/8 inches wide. I'm afraid that the opening on the machine is only 6 inches. Would you please let me know the width of the opening? TIA

Hi, sbd!

It just might fit!! the platform is 6 inches across but it has some wriggle room when going through the opening - which looks like at least an 1/8 of an inch! Hard to get an exact measurement because the opening is "inside" a shell of the machine....

I will say that I really like the machine! embossing is easy and I get good clean cuts on my most intricate dies without using the metal shim that I do on my other machine. The adjustment knob is pretty self explanatory - so no adjusting "sandwiches" . You must have the whole platform out of the opening before adjusting the knob else it won't move.
I have the manual version and it's quite easy to use. My only challenge right now is that I bought the motor to attach and can't get the manual handle off! UGH! I've seen some comments that other handles occasionally come off and I can't get mine off! Go figure! but I'll figure it out!

Hope you enjoy it! if you get it! Good Luck!

Hey I just tried my magnetic platform and it worked, you just have to put the dial on Embossing instead of Die Cuts. Also to the person trying to get her handle off, it has a lock on it, look at the handle there is a lock or unlock and the handle comes off easily.

Hi, there! Thanks for the info! but the "lock" appears to be realllllly LOCKED! I've slid it but it won't release from the gears inside .....any other thoughts! I'd appreciate them. For now anyway - it's stuck! :( I may need to call their Customer Service!

P.S Just tried it again but still no go! Oh well, manual turning isn't going to hurt me....I'll think of it as some resistance training for today! ;)

There's a magnetic platform for the Evolution Advanced--well, it's made by Lifestyle Crafts, part of WRMK. It's called the GENIUS platform and it has the magnetic platform, which is extended, along with an embossing pad (labeled, B for emBossing) and the Cutting pad (Labeled A.) The Cutting pad is designed like those self healing cutting mats for Exacto knives or rotary cutters.

I have the Genius system and I like it. It works really well for embossing and I do use it if I am going to cut a LOT of things at once with dies. I use it on my Big Shot with no problems.

I also have the Sizzix Magnetic Pad. Now if Sizzix came out with cutting pads that were self healing, LIFE would be grand!

Jannarama, what setting do you use on the dial. That is something that I just keep messing with.

SBD, Right now I'm just using the guidelines that were offered online at the WRMK website. It's a PDF to download.

I did try a Sizzix BIGZ die and found that it ran through at a 10. Of course, YMMV.
