Question Making "in-color" stamp spots???

Hi there!

I know I've read aout people making thier own in-color stamp spots before using "blanks".

Where are some places I can get the blanks?

I've tried searching the threads, but there are so many hits on "stampin spots", it's a little crazy!

TIA

Here's the link. I made my own in color spots this year and I love them. Plus I have the reinkers to use for other things.

Thanks! I actually found a place that will ship to Canada for not too much. If anyone else is looking, http://www.mardigourds.com/index.php...roducts_id=403

Who would have thought a gourd crafing place would have these useful little guys?

I didn't even know you could craft with gourds. I should get out more.

Thanks for the link. I have ordered the cubes from the other gourd place (welburngourdfarm.com - they shipped very fast), but they do not carry the foam cubes for craft ink!

Oh my holy heck! That place has a lot of stuff!!! Any suggestion on how to find the spots? Is there a particular place where they are? I will keep looking.
And did I read it right? You have to call them to place an order? How foreign! lol

I couldn't find them either. I found the large dry ink pads for $3.99, but not the small ones :(

How much ink is needed to ink up a brand new spot?

I just made mine from old cubes I had from an ink pack I bought at Joannes long time ago. I just rinsed it out , let it dry and added my new inks. They work perfect. It is a great way to recycle your old pads.

I emailed Fran and questioned about the 1" spots. She just got them in stock and haven't list them on her website yet.

To order you would have to...email/call/fax your order. There's an order form to print out.

OK, stampers...in checking various threads I've found links to these companies who sell blank spots:

rubberstampmaterials.com
welburngourdfarm.com

and now
mardigourds.com and
franticstamper.com

Some are felt, some are cloth/felt, and some just say that they are a fine soft surface. For those of you who have already bought these, which would you recommend? I plan to get them for In Colors, but don't want to buy 2 dozen of something I won't like. Ideas?

Thanks much!

Mary

I got mine from the gourd farm link listed above... I have no other spots from the other links you listed to compare them to, except to say that the spots remind me of the surface of the dye ink SU stamp pads. So, I would say that these spots are like the classic ink pad surface from SU.

I only other spots I have are the craft ink spots from SU. That surface is smooshy. The spots from the gourd farm are NOT smooshy.

Hope that helps!?!

Thanks, Adriene. That does help a lot. That gourd farm was sort of where I was leaning, partly because of the rest of their web page.

I did the same thing, saved money and they work great! Once my other supplies of in colours are gone, I'll recycle these old cubes again!
