Exclamation Making Memories or Clevercut Paper Trimmer?

Hello! I've been wanting to buy a paper trimmer for quite a long time now and i've done some research.. right now i'm between:

Making Memories Paper Trimmer

and

Clevercut by Crafter's Companion ?

What's your opinion about them? Are they good ones? Which one would you suggest me to get between them two , or none of them? Thanks alot in advance!

Do a search on here about the MM trimmer. If I remember the threads correctly, the general consensus is that it's a great trimmer until something breaks as you can't get replacement parts.

For me, neither one. I prefer the Tonic 12" base guillotine trimmer.

I love the Making Memories Trimmer. I've had it for about 2 years and can't fault it. I only cut one piece of cardstock at a time, so don't know how it would work if you wanted to use it for multiple pieces of paper at once.

The cuts are clean and the edges are never frayed. I especially like that the blade is self-sharpening. The cutter folds in half and you can unfold it for 12 x 12 paper.

I got it at Mikes with a 50% coupon for about $25.

I had an MM trimmer that I really like the first few months. Then all the lines rubbed off, made smudges on the paper. Then the plastic blade guard broke off. Next stop was the trash. I got a new Fiskars that I really like -- wide enough to cut 5 1/2" without extending the arm and wire guide to show exactly where blade will cut. It's so hard to find the perfect trimmer!

I had the MM one and I hated it. I did not get straight cuts. Yet another trimmer that was sold at a garage sale!!

Michael's took my original MM trimmer back when it started fraying the edges of my paper. I've had the replacement for almost 2 years now with no problems at all. The lines are still there and the blade cuts cleanly. I keep my fingers crossed....
