Default Martha Stewart stuff on Sale

I was a Micheals today and they had a lot of Martha Stewart stuff on sale. There was a big sale rack of a lot of MS stuff that was really marked down. I got a pack of 12X12 paper (12 sheets) originally $10.99, on sale for $3.00. Also got a pack of pretty paper flowers, originally $5.99, on sale for $2.00. I guess no one is buying the stuff at the regular price, so they are marking it down. There are some good deals.

That's interesting. I walk by her isle all the time to see what's changed...Her isles are always stocked and no sales at my Michaels...hmmm, maybe I ought to check it out again..

Thanks for the heads up...Did you find her mark downs in her isle or a clearance isle..

Bonnie - I am not the OP but I'll tell you how I found it at my Ms. There is a smallish separate display near the MS stuff. It's not marked sale or clearance or anything like that. The price tag for each item simply (and very discreetly) said "Price Reduction." Maybe some stores have it differently? But this is how it is at mine.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are! (OK, Larry-the-Cable-Guy... get outta' my head!) Wow, Martha is a failure at something it would appear! Maybe they ought to think about putting it on sale everyone now and then and/or letting us use coupons for it! At my M's it doesn't seem like the stuff moves very much. Same things in stock, and never completely out of anything.

My firend works at Michaels and she said they haven't even gone through HALF of the stuff they first ordered! I had been boycotting MS since they wouldn't let you use a coupon...

The Martha Stewart stuff that was marked down (50% - 60%) in my Micheals was displayed in a large square rack right in the aisle as you come in the front door. It wasn't in the MS aisle. All the regular MS is still there and nothing is on sale. The Sale stuff is displayed in a separate rack in the center aisle. Hope that helps you find it. It didn't have any clearance or sale sign on the rack, you just have to look closely to see the mark downs. Good Luck.

Default I agree....

I have been boycotting the MS stuff as well. I finally broke down and bought one of the punches at full price last week ($9.99). If I could use the coupon, I would have lots of her stuff. BTW...the punch is NICE!

Honestly, with all the scrapbooking tools and products in the market, I don't see anything special with the MS stuff, aside from the super big albums and paper (12 x 24). Her price is not as reasonable as the others, and it seems to me that we are just paying for the "name". I saw the MS show one time and she was doing scrapbooking while some of the audience asked some questions about scrapbooking, I wasn't at all impressed with her answers. She is NOT a scrapbooker. I think she came up with a scrapbooking line because it's become popular to a lot of people, not because she's really into it.

I don't know anyone who has bought any of her stuff...its just too expensive. Also, the size of her paper 18x18?? how do you fit it in your cutter???
I might buy some of her stuff if I could use a coupon or it was reduced. Here in Ontario I have not seen any of her stuff move off the shelves and have not seen it reduced either.

Canadian stores are always behind what the US does

Her punches are made by EK Success and I don't think $9.99 is any different than what anyone else sells punches for. A similar sized punch with SU now sells for $10.95 PLUS tax PLUS shipping and NO COUPON (assuming you are not a demo). I'm no Martha fan but I really have no problem with the price of her punches.

At my local Michaels they did have some Martha stuff on sale but they were calling it seasonal merchandise.

I've only bought a couple of the punches from MS, and they are super wonderful! But the rest of the stuff, while pretty and good quality, wasn't so fabulous I had to buy it (got enough great stuff, already, LOL!). Thanks for the heads up on the sale, though. Will have to check it out. Might make it much more attractive, KWIM?

I like her stuff at a reduced price, but not at full price...

I agree with Novell - the punch prices are reasonable and they work great! I have two of them and am always tempted to buy more when I'm there. I'll have to check to see if we have the seasonal stuff on sale yet at my M's.

I bought the cornflower punch for $9.99 and thought that price was not too bad; I love it! I also saw some stuff on clearance after Memorial Day, red, white and blue glitter; stuff like that; I'll have to go back to see if there's new stuff on that rack! In Salem, NH, it was on a separate rack too in the center aisle, away from "her main aisle"!

I got a set of her clear alphabet stamps $12.99 reduced to $5---only bought them because they were on clearance. I love them. I think her punches are great too but want to be able to use a coupon to buy them. I need some justification for why I need them...like they were on sale.

I bought the paper flowers too. They were really pretty and a great price. Nothing else caught my eye. Though, I didn't see any 12x12 paper, as I would have bought that. Thanks for the tip.

I went to my local Michael's as well here in Illinois. And her package of glitter is now $3! Full size jar of red, white and silver, and the acrylic letters are also $3! Had to get both!

Veeerrry interesting, indeed!

When my Michael's was starting to stock their shelves (literally, they were just putting up the shelves for the displays!) ... the manager said that MS would never, ever go on sale ... that they weren't allowed to by the MS company. Wow. Wonder if this means her foray into the scrapbooking world is a huge bust?

I knew I bought something else! LOL, goes to show you that I buy, not use! I got the clear alpha with little flowers for $5.
