Marvy Clever Lever Punch Guide- what to use. *merged*
I've been reading a lot of posts about which punches go with which punches.
Here's a little guide, Hop it helps.
1. Giga is Purple and it's the biggest.
2. Mega is next It's Pink. You can tuck this one inside the Giga. Use either scalloped or regular, They both work.
3. Super Jumbo comes next. It is Blue.
The only ones that are a little "wonky", to quote Julie HRR, (I love that word,) are the ovals. Here is an example of the wonkiness- Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
And if you really want to be different, (if you know me, you know I'm different,) you'll do this combination! LOL
I know CM has 0.75, 1, 1.25 and 1.5" squares in their big/little square sets. Is the Jumbo 2" or 1.75" I always get confused with their "shapes range" bit. Which should I assume?
Here's a visual I put together to go along with that info (after doin' a bit o' research):
Marvy Uchida Clever Lever Craft Punches:
Now, those sizes are *approximate*...and the 2 numbers mean the shapes in that 'family' are between those 2 sizes. I do believe the actual size is smaller???? Are they made to dit within a circle of that size?? I am not yet the proud owner of any of these nor have I seen them in person. Just passing along some info which I've gathered.
And like Gina said; you can achieve a nested scalloped look by getting the plain punch one size smaller than the scalloped punch. (See below for info re. ovals.)
And here's a thread where people talk about the ovals (scalloped + plain) and achieving a nested or layered look: Got my scallop and plain oval punches...and I'm not happy <---click!
Many SCSers shared *wonderful* examples in there...talked about using the Creative Memories & the Coluzzle systems. A great thread.
Hope this helps! Please post any feedback you may have on the actual "width" of some of these punched out shapes.
Wow! this is great info. I actually was stressing because I'd get them mixed up and resorted to attaching a label to them. Now I'll add the dimensions to the labels!:-D
The actual puched size with the Giga, Mega & Super Jumbo is 1/16th" smaller than the largest number on the package.
So, the Mega is 2 9/16" in diameter.
This may not seem like a big deal, but in some cases it can really mess up a project and waste paper, etc.

Tks so much for the information. I have the scalloped giga on order. I am going to try my coluzzle to see if that can used with it but if not then I know what to order. Finally found a place in Canada to order it.

Did your punch come, Karen? I'm trying to get my LSS to order them, but she says they're on backorder from her supplier.
square sizes: I found out the hard way - the square stamps are measured on the DIAGONAL!

Thank you for your input!
Can anyone tell us about the diameter of the Giga Scalloped Circle? How about the height and width of the Giga Scalloped Oval? (I know the scalloped edges can make it a bit tricky.)
I never got my punch yet. Apparently they are on backorder for 6 - 8 weeks. If you really want one I would put an order in because apparently they are very hard to get and they can't keep up with the supply.

The Giga Scalloped circle is 3" in diameter. This includes the "bumps" of the scallops. If you don't include the scallops, it's 2 3/4".
I don't have the Giga Scalloped oval.
Just for the record, the Giga Scalloped square is 2 3/16" across, from one corner to an adjacent corner. This includes the "bumps". It's 2 1/16" if you don't include the bumps.
And in case anyone is wondering, the Mega Scalloped oval is 2 1/2" x 1 7/8", including the "bumps". Not counting the bumps, it's 2 1/4" x 1 5/8".
Not sure if this has been posted somewhere already--can someone please list for me the order of sizes for the scallop punches (oval and round)? Is giga the largest or mega? and what is super jumbo? I was also wondering what is the best size to fit on the front of an A2 card (the cards made with half of an 8 1/2x 11 sheet of paper). Help! This is very confusing to me! Thanks

Here is a very helpful thread regarding these punches:
i have the giga and mega scalloped oval and square punches.. i want to order the non scalloped punches to layer inside of them but not sure what size i get for each punch.
I also checked my round and oval Coluzzle and YES they do work. It is a little bit more work, but until my budget allows two more punches I will use the Coluzzle.
I should have added that there is a code for determining the punch size. The first two letters, LV, indicates that these are Clever Lever punches. The letters following the dash indicate the size; thus, GCP is Giga, MGCP is Mega, SJCP is Super Jumbo, EJCP is Extra Jumbo, JCP is Jumbo, and CP is the smallest size.
If I want to be able to layer a circle onto a giga scalloped circle punch, which size circle punch do I need to buy -- the giga circle or the mega circle?

You want the mega circle which is slightly smaller.
Does anyone know by heart what color belongs to what name of the Marvy Punches? Like the purple one....is that the jumbo? extra jumbo? Giga? Holy, am I confused. I saw this on a thread explaining it, but I can't find it. Will subscribe to this thread if I get an answer.
I know that I saw a thread about the sizes of marvy punches, you know, whethter the giga was 3 inches and the super jumbo was ... ? Anyone know where I could find this list? Pretty please?
