My Baby Bug Died!!

Hey Everyone,
I caved today and bought an Expressions....not because I "wanted" to, but because I "HAD" to because my Baby Bug just broke down! (And with the 2 extra carts promo...not a bad deal!) I've had the Little guy for almost 2 years, but I can't help but to think that it should last longer!
I'd like to keep the baby bug for Crops and little jobs (I have so many mats, it seems a waste to get rid of them)....problem is, it's not working. So, any ideas where I can get this repaired (if it's worth it)? I live in Canada, just outside Toronto. Problem with it is....when I power it on it seems to jerk the whole blade area off and on....so I'm just thinking something is stuck somewhere.....
Any Thoughts???? Has this happened to you????

Try calling Provo Craft on Monday. It's probably out of warranty, since it's over a year old, but there might be something they can do or help you with. Hope you're able to get it working again!

Ya, Sadly the warranty is long gone I'm sure! Certainly worth a call....I hear that their customer service is not that hot! But I'm gonna call anyhow and see.......I'm still keepin' my Expressions though! LOL

I've always had very good service when I've called Customer Service. When they first released Design Studio, the hold time was around 40 minutes. The last time I called, I think I was hold for maybe four minutes.

One thing you might want to try before you call is to reset the machine:

First, turn your machine on with no cartridge loaded. Then you are going to roll all your gray dials (the two on the left and the one on the right) down to the lowest setting. This next step will sound a bit odd, but many times it can fix your little "bug". Youre going to roll all your dials all the way up and all the way down three timesthree times for each dial. Then you are going to hit the Cut button and turn the machine off. Let the machine sit for a few minutes, load a cartridge, turn it on, and try a practice cut.

Well Holy COW.....IT WORKED!!!! I did what you said and then needed to hit the Stop button a couple of times and voila!! I've turned it off and on a few times now and am dumbfounded that the fix was so easy!
I can't believe that I searched for 2 days for some way to fix this before going to Walmart.....and I just took my new expressions out of the box like 3 hours ago!

You ROCK!! THANKS!!!!!!

That is SO great!!! (Glad I could help!)

I love my Expression machine. I don't use it every day but I'm glad that I have it so that it is available when I need it.

Wow Kimberly- where did you learn that trick???

I don't have any immediate plans to purchase an electronic die cutter, but if/when I do, the user community is definitely something I will take into account- it's nice that there's always someone out there to answer cricut questions!

I had originally came across the "cricut resetting" instructions when browsing the Support web page at cricut.com. (I can't remember what I was searching for at the time, but I thought that might be good to keep on hand.)
