Ok, so I am getting on a plane to attend my DSS wedding soon and thought it would be a good place to work on some card pieces and show some product to friends at our destination. I am thinking of taking stamped images and a few markers and blender pen. Has anyone done this recently? I have only been on two trips with the new carry on regs and really do not want to have an issue of loosing my markers. Since the markers are juicier than say a sharpie, do they behave any differently with cabin pressure? Since I am planning on making Tableau of Terror card only the red would be good if it sprayed ;)
I read a blog recently that described what you are doing. She made sure to open her markers at both ends at the end of the trip to release pressure. I wish I could remember who's blog I read so I could link you to the article. sorry ...
I carried a zip lock baggie with four SU markers and some images stamped on cardstock in my carry on all the way to Peru and back (never did get around to using them) with no problems.

When flying, my pens have never been confiscated. If you choose to bring the ABS kit with you, put it in your checked bags though (I've never tried to take it through the security point because I'd rather not risk losing it). If you color while on the flight, once you land take the caps off both sides to even out the internal air-pressure or you'll get blobbing.

This is only the case for copic markers (which is what the quote caseyandstephy mentioned above). I don't know how other markers might react to the changes in cabin pressure. It might not be appropriate for the project you were talking about, but you could opt for colored pencils instead of markers.
I took some stamped images and watercolor pencils, plus a brush, for my daughter the last time we flew. I got her a little cup of water and she had fun coloring the images then watercoloring.
Have a fun trip!

I traveled from Chicago to San Diego with 3 wallets of Copics in a shopping bag as my carry on. Not a problem at all. Not with leakage, not with security, nothing.
Dee Gruening from Posh Impressions says she takes her markers on the plane to work frequently. I don't think she would do this if she had a problem with her Marvy markers...
