Default Nestabilities in Sizzix...HELP :)

Can someone please tell me what I need and where I can purchase the items I need (i.e. foam pad??) to use the Spellbinder Nestabilities in my good "old RED Sizzix machine.

I have a ton of the templates but cant figure out how to make it work in my machine.

THANKS for any info

Here is what I do with the Sizzix Lever Press machine.

To cut:

Put the Sizzix Converter on the machine
Place down the regular white cutting pad
Put the cardstock or paper face UP
Die blade down
Cuttlebug embossing folder on top of that
Push through machine, pulling down firmly with each movement forward

I bought a cheapy embossing folder I didn't care about for $1 from Oh My Crafts - I use it ONLY for cutting my Nesties in the Sizzix Press, and it still hasn't hurt it any. Still I feel better having a dedicated folder.

Then to emboss
Converter snapped onto machine
White cutting plate
Take the die with the cut still in it and turn it over so the blade is facing up
Two tan spellbinders mats
Push through machine, pulling down firmly on the lever with each push forward.

So basically you need the two tan mats OR two pieces of plumbers gasket, the Sizzix converter, and an embossing folder. You can also glue pieces of chipboard together to make it the same thickness as an embossing folder and use that.

i use my trusty red sizzix the most !! i never thought of using a spare CB embossing folder though....i bought a square acrylic spacer from croptsop....they work for a long time, but when the one i am using now gets too roughed up....i will use a CB folder ! i have a few that i had to have and never use. (tee hee). i also use a piece of acrylic that was a cat flap in a litter box....our cat is afraid of doors, so the flap was not being used...one day i said "ah ha"....that might just be the right size !! and it was. DH cut it to size.

for the embossing step....i use the white plate, die with cut paper inside blades down, a tan mat and a shim. (shim is the folded packaging the nestie came in cut to size)

i also found that some of the silicone baking pads work as well .... if you find one cheap you can cut it up and have many "tan mats" (mine is a red silicone baking sheet)
