I'm interested in the nestability tools but not sure which machines work best with this product and also which machine has the most option. I scrapbook so I'd use the die cut for something too. I've only use the Sizzix, a friend's machine, and have only heard or seen the rest at the stores or magazines. What do you think are the main pros and cons of the die cut machines you have.
I believe you get the best results with Nestabilities in the Wizard by Spellbinders. They work in other machines, but the Nestabilities are made by Spellbinders specifically for their machine. There is about 3,000 pounds of pressure in the Wizard and that is what gives you the amazing emboss in the dies.
If you are able to do a side by side comparison at a local store, I'd suggest trying that! It will give you a good feel for how other machines work. You will also be able to see the results in the die cuts.
The Wizard is totally metal, other personal die cutting systems aren't. Its a quality machine.
I can only get them to cut the shapes in the CB but how do you get it to emboss? I can't figure that portion out yet.
You need to have the nestabilities embossing mat to emboss in the cuttlebug. I tried this for the first time over the weekend and wasn't really happy with the embossing until I used 2 of the mats - glad they came 2 to a package! If I remember correctly, I did the sandwich in this order:
Thanks so much for the info! I went to Joann.com and found a lot of reviews and it seems like it's a preference thing, not something you can just buy, you have to go and feel it first. At first I was just going to buy it online but now I think I'll wait until I can go to a Joann's.
Seems like the wizard is more complicated, versatile, and sturdy - which I like. I don't like easy machines But the Cuttlebug seems easier to store. The Big Kick seems to have a great handle but without trying them out, I'm more towards the Wizard then Cuttlebug. I watched the Wizard video on their website and the Cuttlebug on YouTube, both has their pros and cons. I love all three because they can take any cartridge.
I thought I wanted a Cricut but after trying it out, I've lost my interest. Seems limiting and not liking how it cuts and it can't go through think items.
So many options still, even though I've narrowed it down to three cutters :(
I just got my first set of nestablilites and I LOVE THEM! I use them with my cuttlebug....and plates etc. are in this order:
A plate
C plate
nestablitie die (face up)
Cardstock
B plate...
Good luck and have fun

This thread was perfect timing! My first set came today and I just tried them with this 'recipe' and it worked perfectly using my 'bug; I used the next recipe to emboss; turned out great! Thanks ladies!

I would highly suggest the Wizard. It has endless possibilities. I am continued to be amazed at everything the Wizard can do. And now with all the new style dies that Spellbinders has created.
Just make sure you do all your research and see what machine fits your need for now and the future.
Good Luck and Happy Shopping.

Could you tell me the "formula" for using the Nestabilities with the Big Kick? That's my machine, and my Nestabilities will be arriving soon. I did buy the tan polymer mats.

Is this mat from Spellbinders or from Sizzix?

I use the Cuttlebug, and I have no problems cutting, but I will be investing in the Wizard soon because it really does make a difference when you want to emboss with your plates. You get a much crisper emboss with the Wizard.
