I've seen ads for a new die cut tool. I think it is from Making Memories and it looks small. does anyone know anything about it. I asked at Archivers on sat. and the person said they are suppose to get it the end of the summer but that was all she knew.
Yeah it's called the Slice. It's not out yet and I've been looking around to see if anyone is doing pre-orders but haven't found anyone, so not sure of the cost yet. It looks like it's going to be really cool!
i think it's going to list for around 150.00, but don't hold me to it! it's way cool!! it can cut die cuts out wherever you place it on your paper or cardstock!
I think there is a video about it on Youtube as well. It uses cartridges that are the size of an SD card (like what you would put in a digital camera). I think I read that they would be $35-39 dollars and each cartridge would coordinate with a MM line.
It looks cool because it's small. However from the video it does appear to be really slow. I can't see replacing a die cut machine with it, but I think it would be neat if you want to cut a shape out in the middle of a piece of paper.
I'm the only one who thinks it looks awful? I hate the idea of holding it down while it goes through the motions and it seems pretty expensive for what it does.

Nope your not the only one. That thing will NEVER come home with me. I'm sticking with my cricuit.
I've said this a few times, for the price of the machine & the cost of the sd cards, you'd be better off buying a used digital cutter like a cricut or wishblade type machine. I read some reviews from people who saw it demo'd at CHA and they weren't impressed. I have a CraftRobo and for me its the best cutting macine going.
One thing I did NOT like was that the Slice will not work on thicker Cardstocks (like SU! weight)
I should also say that they are already working on a generation 2 of the Slice that works on a larger surface but is also portable... THAT product sounds cooler! I think I am going to wait for GEN 2...
I won one from scrapsupply.com! I won't get it until later in the summer - whenever they get them in. I felt bad because I had no idea what it was, but I'm so excited about it now

Wow! Congratulations!!
I agree I would not trade my cuttlebug or cricut for it, but I would like one!! I love how its small and can cut anywhere on the paper. And I love that the chips will match their lines of papers etc...thats cool!! Oh and MM is a full angel company and provo craft....well their angel policy sucks, so the slice has that bonus too!!

They unveiled the MM Slice at CHA Winter, and it's still not out yet?
Daven and Sara and I saw the prototype (before MM bought it from the creator), at CHA Winter the year before--down in New Exhibitors.
I remember standing there, watching in fascination, and I blurted, "This is really a cool gizmo, but ya' GOTTA change the color--nobody is gonna buy it in this neonlime green, yellow or orange--make it in a pretty color, like celery green or something!"
They looked at me like I was crazy. I still wrote it down on their little survey form thingy and slipped it into the box. But, isn't it funny what color MM has produced it in?! ROTFLMBO! That just cracks me!

I also noticed on one of the Utube video's that they are making accessories for it -- the glass matt, the spray adhesive stuff to stick your paper to the matt and the spatula. Wonder if these will be included with the unit or if you have to buy them seperately.
