I'm the proud new owner of a set of 120 PrismaColor Pencils. Do you prefer to keep yours in the original tin? Or do you take them out and put them in something else?
I personally don't like my SU markers in the case they came in--too cumbersome to put them back in the slot where they belong. So do you use jars or something else? I was thinking of using Mason jars and grouping by color, and decorating the jar around the rim with grosgrain in the colors that each contain. Want it to look cute, as well as be functional.
What do you do?

I personally keep my SU markers in their original case and keep them on the side. By standing them up in a jar I am concerned that color/ink will go to one end of the marker and by keeping them on the side the ink is distributed equally. I love the look of what you are considering. And it will look great on a shelf that has easy access. Good luck with your decision.
My Prisma's are in 4 1-pint jars. My SU markers are in my ink pad holder with the marker spots beside the ink pad. I have pix in my gallery of both of these if you want to check it out.
I keep all my colored pencils in the Tool Turnabout made by Pampered Chef. I love having them so accessible. The tin that the pencils came in was just a PITA!
I had the 48 set of Prismas and tried to keep them in the tin but they were driving me bonkers. After seeing Karen Lockhart's collection at the Shoebox Swap I decided I needed more pencils and a better way to store them. I just bought the set of 120 and am currently looking for a different storage system. Karen keeps hers in jelly jars by color family. I'm thinking of some sort of tote that has seperate compartments or removable containers (like a six-pack holder). I saw an organizer by Fiskars at Joannes that had 4 cups with a handle in the center but I think I might want 6. I'm curious to see what other use......
I only have the set of 72, so I don't know if this would work for the bigger set. I have 2 of the Target $1 spot buckets that I keep mine in. I took 2 coasters and cut a slit in them so they fit together to form an X. I put this into the bucket to form 4 sections. Then I have the pencils in 8 groups: browns, black/grays, reds/pinks, purples, blues, greens, yellows, and oranges. I haven't actually played with mine yet, though. I got them after watching Karne Lockhart and the shoebox swap, also. Thanks again, Joyce, Novell, and RT!

This was another idea that I was toying with, as I just bought one of those buckets the other day. Was trying to figure out how to put dividers in it. Your idea is brilliant!

i keep mine in the tin they came in i started with the 48 and was able to keep them and the stump and gamsol in a long rubbermaid holder now i just sett hem on the desk stacked takes up less space for me and i can stack them
I have just matched up all my prismas to the SU colours. I am going to keep those separate in in the four colour groupings. I will put a label on each so I know what SU colour they are.
