I purchased all the Prismacolor premier markers about 2 years ago that match all the Stampin Up colors. I haven't used them at all to color. I want to use them, but can't find any tutorials out there on these markers. That I need to sell them and try to start my collection of Copic Markers. It would of probably helped if I didn't flunk Coloring 101.
My question Gina is then, how do you know which colors are the best blend for like brown hair. I saw somebody use Sienna and Goldenrod...I would of never guessed to use those two colors together. So...I do I figure out what the best combinations are for skin tones and such?

I would make a colorchart if I were you. COlor a little bit of each marker and then write the number next to it. Once you actually see the colors on the card stock, it will be a lot easier for you to choose. Then, when you are looking a copic tutorials, keep your chart close by and substitute colors in the prismas that look similar to the copic ones in the tutorials.
And remember, keep a prismacolor blender pen close by. They work just like the Copic ones. In fact, I couldn't find my Copic one and used my prisms one with my copics once and it worked pretty well even with the copics!
You can always light a color by using the blender pen to grab color from another pen. You'll get a lighter shade that way.

Is there anyone that has color combinations that they use for the dark and light color for let's say a cowboy hat? I need a chart...I am so fresh and new at this, but willing to learn.
I don't know if people do this but it would be nice if they say in their description of their cards what colors they used. That would help me. I know they do it for Copic markers...anybody want to help a newbie???

Reason: Want to add more.
I have quite a few combinations of the PC Markers that I go to all the time. I just never wrote them down so you'll have to give me a little time. I guess a blog devoted to using Prismacolors instead of Copics would be useful. Hmmm just may have to think about writing more details on my blog when I use my Prismacolor Markers.

One thing that I do that works with any coloring medium is stamp multiples of the same image, then try out different color combos on the additional images. When I found a color combo I like, I use it on the image I want for my finished piece.

I do this, too. I usually make 4 to 6 of most cards, except maybe a special birthday card here and there that is unique.
I stamp all my images and either cut them to size or use a Nestabilities shape.
Then I stamp several of the images on scrap cardstock also. I try different colors on these test images until I find the combo I want to use.
I have a real conglomeration of markers, from Bics and Sharpies to a few Copics and Prismacolor markers, so "testing" the colors to see how they work together is important.

Nobody's mentioned this yet, so I thought I'd do it, lol. When I clicked on this thread, the banner up top was for a $10 rebate off a $50 Prismacolor purchase. In case the banner isn't showing up for you, the link is

Hi Katie. I use Prismacolor markers. For Brown hair, I use Darkbrown, Goldenrod, Oatmeal, Sienna Brown, and Cool Grey 20% blend w/Dark Brown at the darkest parts. You can go on my blog and check out my lastest coloring with Prismacolor Markers. I did color a brunette.
Chrissy,
Went to your blog and loved your video using Prismacolor markers so then went to Dick Blick's and ordered some colors I didn't have yet. Your blog cost me $70! ROFL
