Hey, does anyone own a Wishblade?
I do, and LOVE it!!! What do you do (mainly) with yours? Lately I've been using mine to make titling for scrapbooking.
I thought that maybe we could point each other to great sources for templates (websites, or even ones that you've designed yourself on your computer)! I know that there are yahoo groups, but other than that, do you know of good sites to download designs/templates so that we can get more use out of our machine without hours of designing our own stuff?
I have a Silhouette, which is pretty much the exact same thing. So far I've been using mine to make titles, scallop circles in any size I want and also small boxes. I haven't found a really great source of templates yet. I did find one out of the UK that had great prices on designs but I didn't order any. I think I probably will though. They were about $1-$2 each.
I have a CraftRobo and also the Illustrator Bridge and I do a lot of (probably not legal strictly) SU stuff and other stuff. I wanted to make a bunch of cards CASEing the gal who made the lions from Wild About You into flowers. AFter cutting one set, I didn't want to cut them so I scanned the stamp, drew the parts and cut out the heads and manes separately using print and cut. I have a whole little box full of nice heads and manes ready for cards. I also made scalloped templates for circle, oval and square and resize them and cut to whatever size I want for a card. The possibilities are endless.

Awesome - would you mind sharing the templates of the scalloped shapes?
I would love to learn how to do that - I am good with computers but haven't figured out how to draw shapes like that yet - if you could explain I'd be so thankful!!!
Also, I've considered scanning in stuff to cut, but don't have a scanner...I've thought that maybe a digital camera would work, but still don't know how I would take it from the picture into a template.
It sounds like you are good with the software - could you please help me out?
I have craft robo software, wishblade software and inkscape, but not illustrator bridge.
TIA!!!
I downloaded the box templates for the Silhouette software. I need to do some decorating of them though! There are a lot of other designs on that software that I'd like to buy, but they're $10 each so it could get pricy.
Just thinking out loud. With your camera, wouldn't you just load it into your computer picture program, save, then bring it up in your inkscape, or other program you are using...
some good sites are, but please remember copyright laws, and just plain being nice and not claiming something as your own if it's not....
Thanks for those links! I cut a whole bunch of scallop circles yesterday and used them on everything. Who needs a twenty dollar punch when you have a machine that costs hundreds! ;)
So now all you wishbladers need to go over to Paperthreads and on the forums, look for the Namebook Challenge that Paperthreads and Chris have going on.... There was a sale and the letter set by Chris was part of it...
Yes, Over at Chris blog, she posts Monday-Friday, read the post for that day and you'll see the password....
At Paperthreads, register for the forums, look in Birthday Exg. or down on the forums, you'll see lots of files, click there. Sometimes, (N. Scrapbook day, etc.) in the store, search for "Free", those should show up.
If you are part of any of the yahoo groups, click on files, there should be a ton....
Yay, I am now a full and active member of the Paperthreads forums!!!
It's actually just like splitcoast - they must use the same website program/designer.
Please, won't you join me there?!?
I'll be looking for you Kristen.... Love your new picture.... Have you wishbladed long. I'm a newbie of a few months, haven't had too much time, but I did take the one class on Winpc Scrapbooking from The Scrappin Path. I really enjoyed it and learned alot...
Yeah, I'm a newbie too! I got it almost a year ago, but haven't had tons of time to use it, with becoming an SU demo and trying to focus on that... So I am getting more into it again now!
I havent got to play with mine much, in the week I have had it--but wowza.. there is a huge learning curve.. I do believe!! I have the craft robo... there was hardly any "instructions" with this thing.... I am relying heavily on those newsgroups. I did download some files and they printed nicely... however making my own may be a little challenging at this point... I hope to spend some quality time with this thing in the next couple weeks. I have not been successful with the print and cut--- as the machine cannot, for some reason ... see the crop marks/registration marks... seems to be a problem Newbies have--- so I must work that out as well.
I have to admit the first couple days-- I wasn't really sure I was going to like this machine... however.. watching it cut a file downloaded from the internet was pretty exciting! Hopefully it will get easier as I understand the ins and outs! Looking for any suggestions!! LOL!!
Yes, it will and you'll LOVE it!!! I use Inkscape (a free vector program that's wonderful) to draw my stuff and then I have to use RoboMaster as a "middle man" to get it in to a .GSD which the wishblade software can cut, so it's a bit more work, but I'm getting pretty fast at it after a bit of practice. And I think that yours will be a lot faster because you probably have that great new software that came with the Pink Wishblade (create and cut)? I think you said it was a Wishblade, sorry if you said craftrobo - I hear they are pretty much the same though. Have fun learning and playing!!!
I finnally set my CR up in my craft room. I also got the printer to print the registration marks and printed then cut the sample boxes that come with the CR software!!! I am excited! They are so cute!
I have also cut some things out from the different yahoo groups too. Very cool!
As I write this I am cutting out 150 name tags in birthday theme for a Beaver group's spring camp. Downloaded 6 images from various sites mentioned earlier in this thread. Simplified them a bit so there were not so many separate pieces and my machine is humming away. I just love it. There are also great intricute card designs available too,
Another couple of sites I like are http://translate.google.com/translat...e=UTF-8&prev=% It is originally in French but translated into English. http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/...401&i=93936845
Awesome... maybe you can upload a pic of them when you are done! I would love to see them! I am bookmarking those other places... so I can check them out later! Thanks for the links!

I'm hoping to get one before the end of the summer! I've got to sell a BUNCH of stuff I never use first :}
Does anyone know - if you order one from an IRW consultant, do you get memory money? That would be sweet!
