I have a question to those who have downloaded from Chris's blog. she gives the password, but I don't understand how to get the downloads. do you need a username as well? what am I missing? I noticed that the most recent files are no longer available to download, but if they were would something be different? please fill me in.
thanks
Michelle
If you got to the blog, see the password, click on the type of file you want, you'll see the two different ones, like GSD or WPC... WPC is for the WinPC Scrapbooking program. So anyway, click on the type of file you want, the page forwards, then type in the password, the page forwards, then download... clear as mud...lol..lol
The files are only up for a day. (Got to keep checking each day, look for password) Chris is very generous in "giving her files away", then after the day, they are pulled and most go on sale over at Paper Threads. (Link posted in this thread)...
She is going to be away for a long weekend... so don't lose heart that there is nothing new... just keep checking back...
Hey, does anyone own a Wishblade?
I do, and LOVE it!!! What do you do (mainly) with yours? Lately I've been using mine to make titling for scrapbooking.
I thought that maybe we could point each other to great sources for templates (websites, or even ones that you've designed yourself on your computer)! I know that there are yahoo groups, but other than that, do you know of good sites to download designs/templates so that we can get more use out of our machine without hours of designing our own stuff?
Hi, Kristen
Another site you may want to check for free wishblade templates is my site - MyDieCuts.com.
It is set up to share and rate the files for free. Maybe I will see some of your files there soon (?)
There are a couple of Freebie projects here for the Craft Robo/Wishblade machines. www dot cuddlybuddly dot com Sorry it won't let me post an external link saying I need to have done more than 3 posts but I have done about 10 :confused: - still hopefully you can find it from my secret code
I'm going to be getting mine from my friend who is an I Remember When consultant. They are also giving some incentives for the purchase, since it no longer qualifies as a workshop (that's what she told me....)
Yeh! I think I can finally post links. As I said before there are freebies and items to purchase at Cuddly Buddly There is also a forum and a lot of members have the CR and offer help and support.
There is also another UK forum where they have a thriving Craft Robo section which includes tutorials, templates and just help atUK Scrappers
Congrats on being able to post links!! thanks for your ideas!

I have a friend who has a wishblade and is having trouble cutting completely through the paper. She is computer savy so I don't think that is the problem. She has tried several different ways to solve this problem and has had no luck.
I write for a zine (online mag - see my signature line where it says my article) and they are looking for someone who would like to write a monthly feature on the Wishblade/Craft Robo. If anyone is interested or if you know someone who might be interested, PM me.

I have a Klic-N-Kut which is a little bigger version of those cutters. But, I can still cut the .gsd files. The best part is I can cut chipboard and 13" wide!
I have bought some collections from www.dianasdesignsonline.com and she has some free files there too. She does GREAT work!
OMG how awesome!!!! I eyeballed that machine... but I backed off because of the price... But it looked soooo cool on what it could do!!!! Congrats!!! --- do you have some samples of things you have done with it?

I actually sell the machines too...have you checked out the KNK Element? It's the little sister to the KNK XL. The only difference between the two is the size of the cutter. The Element will still cut larger than the CR/WB/S machines at 9" Plus, it's only a little more than the WB/Silhouette machines. But you get soooo much more power to it!
I actually posted a card this morning to my blog with a spirelli flower I made using my KNK. Right now, a lot of the work I do with my KNK is for custom titles, so I don't have many samples of my work yet! LOL i guess I need to work on that huh?
I have recently bought a craft robo and only really created my own words for cards. Thanks for the links. Am going away for a few days later today so look forward to this thread when I get back at the weekend.
If you're talking about the le craft robo site, you just click on the green box that says fichier gsd. Most people download a preview of their gsd file beside it so you know what kind of file you're clicking on.
Dianne, I really like to use my Xyron for diecuts. It makes sure that the entire back of your diecut has adhesive on it. For smaller things I'll use a Quickie Glue Pen, but I love the Xyron.
i got mine from I remember when - before when it did qualify as a workshop - on the last day even! I am so glad I did!
Have any of you heard about some new software for it that will weld letters and all kinds of stuff for you? I heard about it over the weekend - but now of course I can't remember from who or where!

Well, my wishblade was here and now it is sent back. The company we bought it from said there is a 30% return rate on the new pink wishblades and they will no longer be carring them. Mine was faulty. Now I have ordered a KNK. I hope it is good.
I have a Wishblade -- purchased several years ago, before they went with Xyron. It's a decent machine ... I found it easy to use and a lot of fun. I have recently purchased a laser engraving machine, with a 12x24" table and unlimited potential. I can cut 12x12 pages of cardstock easily, which opens up a huge market of personalized 12x12 pages with names, dates, locations, team names, etc. Am considering selling my WishBlade, as I don't really use it since getting the laser. It will cut vinyl, which is one thing the laser cannot do, due to the pvc content and very toxic fumes ...

Yes, I have the Wishblade and wish it was a lil easier to navagate on the computer end of it.
It has allowed me to get rid of the dies for Sizzix because I can have unlimited sizes and fonts for any title. Someone needs to write a book on more info for the programs though. I get upset when I go to cut and it runs off the page.
I scan alot of images (shilouettes are great) to enlarge or decrease like a horse shilouette.
I don't think we should nave to pay for templetes so I use the Clipart free downloads and try to copy them into the program.
I feel in the long run it saved my money vs buying all the stickers, dies and Sizzix for scrapooking and cards.

BossKut have pretty much all their die designs available as downloads. Try here: http://www.bosskutdesigns.com/index.asp - they're mostly a couple of dollars each to download.

The Klic-N-Kut Element is our newest machine! This machine was designed with the scrapbooker in mind. It has a maximum cutting width of 8.5 inches and 500 grams of force. Perfect for cutting thicker materials like chipboard and funfoam. It can cut directly from the new Klic-N-Kut Studio for Elements which comes with the Klic-N-Kut, FREE!
The Klic-N-Kut Element also comes with the following:
* 2,000 True Type Font CD
* Cutting Mat.
* 2 Blades and Bladeholder.
* Pen Tool
* USB Converter
* Software Dongle-that allows you to install your software on more than one computer!
I'm so confused by all these machines and therefore have none. A friend just bought a Xyron Machine for $95 at Big Lots. I may have to check that out.
