I am working on some altered clipboards and came across someone talking about Paper Perfect Adhesive. I've never used it. My question is: Should I try it or stick with mod podge? Which works better?
they are pretty similar actually.
I use the perfect paper adhesive for things that are like expensive papers onto more paper or papermache, ( squirt some on a paper plate and apply it with a foam paint brush ) I tend to use Modge podge on tin's mainly. ( apply it the same way ) to tell you the truth i don't even remember why i have both. they pretty much work the same way.
hth,
To me, they are not really all that similar. MP is much thicker. I am a HUGE fan of the Perfect Paper (it was probably me talking about it)...but there are others that swear by the MP. I always get bubbles so I don't use it on clipboards. I will however, use it on tiles.
I love PPA (or PVA) for covering anything chipboard or even gluing cereal box chipboard layers together. You get a nice tight seal and your paper dries flat with no bumps or bubbles. I do not use it as a sealer (top coat) like you can use mod podge.
PPA is made with less water content. I do NOT understand this at all, lol, but that's what they say. So you'll have less stretching and bubbling with your paper. I believe it's also archival, but I'd have to dig mine out and read the label.
I only used modge podge one and hated it!! I could see the brush strokes and it seemed to warp the paper. I love PPA! Never had a problem with it. Diamond glaze works well too, but it isn't cheap.
