Default Paper Tagger

I've done several searches for "Paper Tagger" and "Tagger" and have come up with nothing of use!
Does anyone have this gadget? If so, how does it work? Do you like it and would you recommend it?

They carry it at Michaels and I've almost bought it several times, but always put it back.

It costs about $20 and looks like a little glue gun with a sharp tip. You poke the tip through the paper and it "shoots" a tag through, just like the plastic tags that come on clothes tags. The tags come in lots of colors and you can get them separately.

It looks sort of cute to have something dangling on the front of your card, I think, but I decided I wouldn't use it enough to justify getting it. I can get the same effect by using a brad and a little thread or string to attach the "dangle" object.

I have had mine for over a year & have never used it. I used one initially in a class taught by the Vendors from Around the Block & loved it, but I found that sometimes I had to shoot it through 2-3 times & I was not too crazy about wasting the plastic tags since my LSS does not carry refills.....

Maybe I should take it out & play some more?

I also have one, but haven't "played" with it yet....Geesh, I love gadgets and gizmos for stamping/scrapping, but sometimes I just don't get the time to "play"! Will subscribe to this thread as I, too am wanting to know others thoughts!

I've had mine about a year and used it only twice... on scrapbook pages. NOT worth the money in my book. Wish I had bought stamps instead. It doesn't always go thru the paper the first time and will wrinkle the paper too!

I played with it at an Archivers crop and decided that I was tagger impaired. I never could get it attached properly...always caused a rip in the paper. Of course they gave us a very thin cheap paper scrap to work with, so maybe that had something to do with it. My friend could do it though. I decided it wasn't for me and really didn't think I would use it much anyway.

I have one and also have not used it much. There is most definetly a trick to using it. I think that I have had good luck because it is similiar to the ticket gun used in retail stores for price tags. You have to be sure to hold the "needle" all the way thru the paper while squeezing the trigger. As far as the price, watch for coupons from your favorite store and buy it that way. Making memories has really cute epoxy tags that work well with it. they are already printed with sayings.

Default paper tagger

I bought one, and I only have used it a few times on some cards, but mostly I use it on other non scrapping/stamping things. I used it to hold 2 different baby quilts together while I quilted them. I use it to hold pairs of socks together before I sell them that I make with beads on them. You can use it to attach buttons. You can use the red taggers that they sell at walmart in the quilting section, too. They are just a little longer, but made the same. The gun takes some practice, but you can do it. I guess I use mine alot, just not always on paper.

My friend has a LSS and received one of these to promote at an interstate paper show she was doing. She gave it to me to play with and to get an opinion. I made a couple of cards using it, but my opinion was that it was the most useless thing I had ever used. It wasn't cheap either but she took some to the show and she sold out. We came to the conclusion that the people at the show must of been starved for products. LOL

I have one but I don't use it in paper crafting much. I do use it to add tags and labels to handknit and handsewn items. It adds a nice little touch with handmade labels.

Default I use mine

Wow I use mine....but I don't exactly punch it through the paper....I usually punch a hole in the paper first (I think your suppose to) and then use the tagger to attach something. When you do use the tagger you have to squeeze the trigger a little slow so that plastic tag won't break.

I actually like it for hanging charms, tags, etc.

You can get refills from OTC (hope this link works).

With paper I usually set eyelets first, and then put the tag-tails through the eyelets.

It's an adorable way to attach the tags from SU's BE HAPPY set!

I discovered that for years I've had a basting gun for quilting that was still in the package! I took it out and played with it a bit, and I think it's just like the paper tagger.

I really like mine. And I took it to a tag night I did, and everyone thought it was the coolest thing. I do cards, bags, etc. Plus once a tag back onto an outfit that had pulled off for a friend! (She was giving it as a gift, and didn't want them to think it was used! )

It is good for attaching tags and such. I personnally would never buy it as I would not get the use out of it. My friend has it and I tried it a few times but I do not think it is worth it. A scrapbooker would use it alot more than a stamper I think.
