These aren't the "CHALK" ones, are they? I know the SU ones say "CHALK" on them and I've seen them at a local scrapbook store, too.

good question...when I bought them I assumed that they were. This websites' brick and mortor store is only about 10 minutes from me so I bought the enchantment pad this weekend. I have no idea if it is the chalk pad. Maybe someone else would know?!?!?

Nope, these are NOT the petal point chalk pads that SU carries. They sold these a few years back.

I have been looking into this as well. Am I correct in my deductions that color box makes a pigment ink petal pad box and a chalk petal pad set? I know the ones at my local craft store state that they are Colorbox "Pigment Ink" petal pads. So I am assuming they make two different types and the "CHALK" ones are the sets everyone here is using? If anyone has an answer that would be great, especially before they go off sale!

I just found this on another thread that answered my question. Hope the person doesn't mind me quoting them here, I'm not sure how to post links to other threads. Stamping is new to me, but computers and the accompanying skills are completely foreign.

I almost bought the pigment inks too! You can get more info @ www.clearsnap.com Sorry I can't give you the link but the way the site works, you can't link to a specific page - go to the site & you'll be able to look at multi-color ink pads.

Hobby Lobby carries the Color Box "Petal Point" Pads for $15.99 and they have all their stamp pads 50% off this week making them only $8.00. They say pigment ink on them not the hybrid (dye and pigment) that Stampin' Up carries.

If they don't say "chalk" on them, they're not chalk ink. There are several different types of "Petal Point" pads - pigment, chalk & Ancient Page. See www.clearsnap.com

Thanks for all the answers guys. Still a good deal if you're looking for pigments. I will be ordering the SU chalk pads tomorrow.

I saw petal point chalk at last years rubber stamping convention near me. Go here and scroll all the way to the bottom to see.
