Default Punch storage

For those of you that use the Ikea bars for punch storage, which ones do you use? There are a few but I don't live where there is an Ikea so when I go, I'd like to just pick up what I want.

if you don't use a bar, what do you use? I'm always open for ideas!

Default Storage

HI. I need to figure this out, too! What I saw in a mag that looked like a good idea to me was to use freestanding shoe storage shelves. The one they showed was probably less than a foot wide and had "cubes" for about 5 pairs of shoes, it was one piece. I think it would be PERFECT and would fit into a skinny space quite nicely. Mine are in a big cardboard box now! I hate that!

Good luck,

Cindy

I have a handmade wooden shelf that I bought from the ebay store HoneyCreek Hardwood. I absolutely love it. It has three angeled shelves plus a flat shelf w/guard rail for handheld punches. I'll post a pic in a minute.

Default Possible alternative...

I saw on a blog this morning an over-the-door shoe hanger being used (don't know if you have a door or want to keep your punches closer). I thought it was pretty neat. I wanted her whole room!

I use the shoe holder but I have it hanging on the wall. I have one for my punches and another for my wheels. I'm one of those if I don't see it, I don't use it.

Okay I went to the IKEA webite the system I use are the BYGEL. The are in the kitchen area under accesories(in the US online catalogue). I use the large bars. You can see pictures in my gallery. I have to say I am an organizational freak of nature and IKEA is my absolute FAVORITE place to shop for inexpensive items to organize with. They have so many things I have found that can be used in so many different ways. I also love thier variety of jars for altering. Happy Shopping!

I use curtain rods I found at Big Lots. Each rod is only $1.50.

thank you everyone! I love the wooden holder, but don't have the room in my little corner. over the door wouldn't work either, but i do have some spave where I could hang a couple rods!

Thank you for those who gave me the link/name of the Ikea one. I'm going to bookmark that and pick a couple up next time I'm there! For 2.99 CDN, you can't go wrong!

And I'm an Ikea freak, too! We have tons of stuff and I use the Expedit bookcase and desk for crafting. have tons of boxes in the cubbies holding everything! It's awesome.

Hi! I had my hsuband put up plastic gutter in white. It comes in 10' lengths and is cut easily. One 5' long row holds my punches the other my ribbons.
Right over my desk/work area. Works great and inexpensive! I think I got the idea form SCS awhile back. Great idea!

Patti, cool studio where did you get the card rack?

I also use the ikea racks - I tried thinner products and they bent with the weight. If you look for something similar, take a punch with you. Some rods may be to thick.

I actually looked at the IKEA bars but they did not work for me as I had a limited space and wanted to use all of it. The IKEA bars were too big or too small as mine only had two sizes.

I went with the cheap metal curtain rods from Linen N Things that were 2.50 each and have worked perfectly!!! I was able to expand them to cover my entire space and stacked 4 rods up on the wall.

This is a picture of the "punch storage" gallery. Just thought it might show you the IKEA ones...they are the ones that are silver with "little circle mounts" to the wall. As you look through the gallery, you can see the different sizes at IKEA.
